5.0 out of 5 stars can you imagine Lamb of God as a Christian band?
I have been down the metalcore trail alot and the deathcore trail a little bit, and one listen to this band tells me that it is a deathcore band with a twist of doom. from the looks of the song titles, this is a Christian band too. the lead guitarist, Chris Drapeau, has some awesome guitar solos, and it makes you wonder if he listens to Testament and other thrash bands...

4.0 out of 5 stars Don't Let the Christian-Thing Turn You Off, October 12, 2010

This review is from: In Ancient of Days (Audio CD)
This album was recommended to me by a fellow metalcore lovin' buddy of mine and I can honestly say that I was well impressed. The solos are melodic yet aggressive, the vocals are brutal without reverting to silly gutteral grunts, and the song structures overall are varied and twist and turn with a pleasing intensity. To be honest, anything 'christian' usually makes me run a mile...but that part of Thy Will Be Done passed by me completely. The song titles...and the band's name is giveaway, but the religious views of the band are pretty much unobtrusive. All in all this is a thouroughly enjoyable listen. It doesn't necessarily break any new ground or set the world alight, but there's some great stuff here.

I have been down the metalcore trail alot and the deathcore trail a little bit, and one listen to this band tells me that it is a deathcore band with a twist of doom. from the looks of the song titles, this is a Christian band too. the lead guitarist, Chris Drapeau, has some awesome guitar solos, and it makes you wonder if he listens to Testament and other thrash bands. there is a bit of Lamb of God influence also in song no. 3 "New World Idolatry" as well as a whole gang shouting the chorus line. while listening to this, imagine that Lamb of God has converted to Christianity. I hope this band gets some massive exposure, but still stays underground. this is the 6th deathcore band I have tried so far. I recommend this if you like Whitechapel, Job For A Cowboy, Oceano, The Great Commission, Earth From Above, and In The Midst Of Lions, and other deathcore bands.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good heavy metal with a positive message, January 31, 2010

This band is pretty good. They remind me of bands like pantera, lamb of god, devildriver, and maybe some "death" metal thrown in. However, unlike most of those bands they are supposedly Christian. In some songs you can def. tell. The title track "until the ancient of days" quotes the Bible I recall at least once about trying to reach a universal transformation and the renewing of our minds. Other songs like "solemn oath" harken back to pantera with the chorus (Imo) while the rest of the album pretty much never let's up. It slows down a little here and there but if you're looking for clean vocals (ala kill switch engage) you won't find any here. This is heavy stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blistering Metal!! What More Could You Want?!, August 7, 2009
This review is from: In Ancient of Days (Audio CD)
Thy Will Be Done is one of the best pure metal bands to come out in awhile! This C.D. has it all, killer riffs, crushing breakdowns, amazing guitar solos, fast intricate drumming, and a brutal singer. I just saw this band live on the "Thrash & Burn" tour, and they stuck out like a sore thumb because they were actually talented (along with Devildriver of course). The sound at the venue sucked so it was hard to hear everything that was going on, but I could tell they were good, so I picked up this C.D. and I couldn't believe my ears! If I had to make comparisons: Vocally think Kataklysm or Devildriver, sometimes there are even hints of Phil Anselmo, Drums & Rhythm guitars think Devildriver, Riffs & Grooves-Dimebag, and Guitar Solos I would compare to Jeff Loomis of Nevermore. Not bad company to keep for a band I had never heard of and just took a chance on their C.D. If you like ripping metal done right, not like the other pansies on the Thrash & Burn tour pick this up! You will not be disappointed!

3.0 out of 5 stars setting the record, November 5, 2010

This review is from: In Ancient Of Days (MP3 Download)
Ok so I would like to set the record straight on these guys . I Listened to the samples and I dug the music so I then proceeded to read all the reviews about what a Christian band these guys are . I then went ahead and downloaded the album and then after the fact proceeded to watch some concert footage of em on You Tube , and here is my take on Thy will be done as far as their stance on being a Christian band , they are NOT a Christian band , at least not based on the concert footage I watched. Now while its not my place to question these guy's Christianity as individuals I cant believe that a Christian band would talk about how great Slayer is and then tell the crowd " We dont give a F@*& what you guys think " ( Quote ) So bottom line for me based on my convictions is no thanks , I promply deleted em right off the ol' MP3 player . Thank God I've still got Impending Doom :)

Just my two cents .

I for one, appreciate a Christian Metal artist's desire to make known the truth of the Almighty, and the musical ability to deliver it with a vicious blow. The Word of God is no joke, and "Thy Will be Done" makes sure you know it. To speak the truth and hold to it steadfastly is a remarkable trait.

"In Ancient of Days" is definitely worth your time. It will throw you against the wall and barrage you relentlessly with Divine Inspiration.
