Excellent introduction to history of ancient Egypt,

As I said in the title, this is really excellent beginning for every would be Egyptologist. It's small format book, with basic informations but lavishly illustrated with dozens of high quality pictures that follows main idea of the article. I highly recommend this book, as all others in Life, Myth, and Art series. (Especially Rome, China and Greece)
