The drawings and costumes are exquisite, like most of Tom Tierny books are. The explanation of each type of costume is well-done and easy to understand. My only exception to the product is the near nudity--tastefully done and, I'm sure, just done to show authenticity, but it may be something to consider if you are buying this for a child. This particular book has a lot of the near nudity, but I guess that was ancient Egypt for you.

A wonderful tool for introducing children to ancient Egypt. It is a fun way for them to learn about another culture.

We used this book of paper dolls as inspiration for dance costuming representing Ancient Egypt in a presentation at our local zoo's fundraiser "Caravan through Ancient Egypt". Beautiful paper dolls and costumes...excellent quality!

These paper dolls are a great aid in teaching-will be used for part of social studies unit on ancient cultures for 6th graders.

I love this collection. The colors are beautiful. I have other collections by Tom Tierney, but this one only has 9 costumes per gender. I noticed that some people say there is too much "near nudity", but it's nothing compared to what I see on the beach when people are in two piece bathing suits. So if you take your young child to a beach and don't mind them seeing people in bathing suits, then this collection will be just fine for young kids.

I don't know how I missed all the reviews saying this before I bought them, so I'm saying it again in the hopes that someone will see the title of this review and clue in. I bought these paper dolls for my 3 1/2 year old who loves all things Ancient Egypt. The man's outfits are fine, but there are only 1 in 3 outfits for the woman that are acceptable for a child of young age. No nipples, but a lot of cleavage and side boobs. There are still some woman's outfits that are okay, just be aware you (probably) won't be using everything you pay for.

This book was just the added touch needed for a display I created at work on Egyptian culture.
The colors in the costumes are brilliant. The costumes are fairly easy to cut out with adult supervision. The head pieces are a little tricky, but if you're careful, they're worth the effort.

I purchased these to "decorate" an ancient Egypt report for my daughter. The artwork is beautiful but I did have to censure a few of the outfits (not quiet suitable for elementary school).

Amazing, two dolls, a dozen or more plates of beautifully draw clothing, how can you go wrong? If you love egypt, this is the paperdoll book for you.

I can't believe no other reviewer has mentioned that the girl paperdoll is topless! In a couple of the costumes, she has nothing on top (sure it's covered by props, but not well) and since when do paperdolls have DD cups? I got this for my daughter for Christmas, but there's NO WAY I would ever let her play with this type of paperdoll. Is it too hard to actually make something that's appropriate for children? Definitely not G rated IMO!
