This review is from: Ancient Greeks: Creating the Classical Tradition (Oxford Profiles) (Hardcover)
This book provides great overview of the important Greeks who shaped
the Ancient Greece that we know today. I first bought this book to complement my major studies (Classics), and as I read through, I realized this book is not just for classicist but for anyone who are interested in exploring LITTLE deeper into the lives and achievements of Ancient Greeks that we, modern day human beings, take for granted. The language used in this book is not hard to follow (English is my second language, and if I have little or no problem reading and understanding this, you won't have any problems). I read through the same book twice already and I find something new every time I read it. This is not a TEXTBOOK... this book is more designed toward people like me (entry level) who need some general, brief overview of what each important Greeks are credited for. |
