Review

"Davies has executed well the program that he set out to achieve....a helpful, time-saving tool...." Ziony Zevit, Catholic Biblical Quarterly

"Ancient Hebrew Inscriptions is destined to be a primary reference tool for epigraphists, historians, and other scholars for years to come. Its concise presentation, logical organization, and comprehensive concordance make it invaluable for the study of Hebrew epigraphic material." James R. Adair, Jr., Biblical Archaeologist

"It can be said that this volume will be a handy tool for those who need for one reason or another to consult the data available in pre-Dead Sea Scrolls epigraphic Hebrew..." Dennis Pardee, Journal of Near Eastern Studies

The Ancient Hebrew Inscriptions by Graham Davies pertains to the actual original Hebrew writings found on the Moabite Stone, Lachish Letters, the writings at the Pool of Siloam, and other areas where these ancient Hebraic writings were found in northeast Africa(so called Israel). The corpus and concordance is very helpful in your studying and research of the Ancient Hebrew Language. It is a must read for all those who are interested in learning the Ancient Hebrew Language.

The book was a large disappointment, there was not really much explanation of much. All of the pages except maybe for the first 15 were nothing but lists of titles of stellae and consonants stuck together with no details about them, no explanation or understanding.
