I was expecting this book to talk about an unknown history from before what has been recorded in modern historical texts after reading the title. I was hoping to learn more about Akashic record readings after I read the introduction. Although I have done a lot of research on these types of beliefs, I am still skeptical of them and read such books to discover ways that I can grow into the "light being" (enlightenment in Buddhism, Christlike in Christianity, etc.) mentioned in this and books on similar topics. Every belief system has as its goals some higher spiritual development and each has its own name for this achievement.
There are appears to be a variety mentioned, even within the pages of this book, as various mediums translate their whisperings from various sources.
It introduces the reader to seven New Age spiritualists who are asked to read the Akashic records in order for Dr. Sam to find answers to his pre-research questions.
Thus, the content of the book, excepting the introduction, conclusion and a couple summaries within, is entirely transcriptions of these readings. I was not very enthusiastic after I read the wide variety in each of the readings, until Dr. Sam pointed out some similarities between them. Once I realized that different spiritualist interpret readings from different sources which could contain different ethnic origins (thus differing viewpoints of the same material), I had to re-read some of the passages with a more open mind.
What was most interesting, for me, was to compare the scientific facts from his book Pyramids Around the World, about findings in Bosnia-Hergovina, Macchu Picchu, Egypt, United States, and other places around the world, with what the readings said about who built each one, how they were built, and the purpose of each one. Also included was a little part about the feeling the reader was getting from each one. The pictures are a fine addition to this work. I would have bought it just for the pictures.
I do and have done a lot of research into ancient history and translations of materials that have been 'dug up' from ancient times. I have read extensively works by authors such as: Harold Lindsey, Edgar Cayce, Plato, James Redfield, Ruth Montgomery, Tony Earll, Jeffrey Iverson, Otto Binder, Edward Everett Hale, Arnold K. Garr, Daniel Cray & Maureen Clemmons, Camille Flammarion, Chet Dembeck, Jack Heffron & Rusty McClure, Moustafa Gadalla, Steve Myers, Shelagh Watkins, Brooks Agnew and E.J.Clark, Edwards Bulwer-Lytton, Dianne Robbins, Erick Von Daniken, etc. who write about such topics as Christopher Columbus, Akashic Records, transcendental meditation, Lemuria, Atlantis, Past Lives, Aliens, UFOs, Anthropological Findings that were suppressed by the government or industry, and ancient history. Many of these books discuss the opinion that many of the findings of (particularly giants and ufos) have been hidden or covered up by an elite group of people. This book discusses something different from all the rest in that it suggests that people could also be covering up certain finding in the pyramids (especially how deep the tunnels go and what artifacts are found within). If we research further into the Coral Castle incident in United States, much of the information given about how the pyramids were built makes more sense.
I am wondering if someone who hasn't read as much on these topics would find this book difficult to understand as there is little or no background given on topics that are discussed.
Just as I try to read books without passing judgement, I find the readings in this book are left as they were transcribed without any judgement being passed by the author as to whether they are true, though he does at time mention when something is verifiable by the physical evidence he has already uncovered.
As I finished the closing chapter on the past life reading for Dr. Sam, I found myself wishing the book had been stalled in its printing until the upcoming finds mentioned and the dates they occurred were added in, but I know that could have prolonged publication unnecessarily when he could just publish these findings in another book, and he did and is continuing to do so.
What really raised my eyebrows was an interesting revelation on Adam and the first sin that I have never heard of before.
In the end, I read this book in hopes of discovering why I am so intrigued by ancient history stories, archeological digs, and anything mystical. In the end, I STAND ALL AMAZED.
