5.0 out of 5 stars The creature exists!
I am a fanatic of Bigfoot lore and have several books on the subject. I jumped at the chance to buy this video, and it was an excellent production. Leonard Nimoy provides an excellent narrative that flows along well with the five parts in the documentary. There have been too many sightings all over the country for this to be a hoax. This video includes the famous '67 Patterson/Gimlin film; that's one good thing about it. But it also includes (Big)footage of something you can't make out what is. It's filmed through trees and bushes, and it really could be just about anything. The two guys who apparently lensed it are interviewed, and they come across as being very used to the situation of being on camera. Their piece of film shows, and proves nothing. A staged field-search with Sasquatch investigator Peter Byrne is also shown. My comments make me sound like a disbeliever, I know, but in reality I firmly believe these creatures are real... I'm talking about Bigfoot now, ofcourse. The many sightings can't be lies, bears, or men in (black) suits all of them !. And then there's the featured Patterson/Gimlin film. -If it's a hoax, why hasn't Gimlin had enough fun, and said so yet ?. (As far as I know, he's not making any money on the film.) -Gimlin and his friend were just two very lucky men, that glorious day back in '67. The scientists who dismiss the film as a prank, will have to eat their unscientific words one fine day. -And I can't wait!. If it's such a clever hoax, surely there would have been dozens of (better) faked, and filmed "high tech" Bigfoots by now, don't you think ?. -And just why have we not seen that ?. -Naturally because no one could, and this object is authentic. Conclusion: Bigfoot is alive and well, walking this way, and living in your own backyard. Still, "serious science" doesn't seem to care. Go figure.

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Ancient Mysteries: Bigfoot [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I am a fanatic of Bigfoot lore and have several books on the subject. I jumped at the chance to buy this video, and it was an excellent production. Leonard Nimoy provides an excellent narrative that flows along well with the five parts in the documentary. There have been too many sightings all over the country for this to be a hoax. It is a primitive form of primate that has yet to be documented. New species are being discovered on a daily basis, even as crowded as our planet is becoming with human population. There is a lot of territory in the Pacific Northwest that man has never set foot on, and still plenty of room for a few thousand of these creatures to roam virtually undetected until one or more of them stumbles upon a camper, hiker or a hunter. This is probably the best documentary I have seen on the subject, covering the Indian lore of Bigfoot, looking at it from a scientific approach through Grover Krantz's analysis, seeing the Patterson-Gimlin film, and even the commercial aspects of Bigfoot in Willow Creek, California. A must see for the Bigfoot fan!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Best Bigfoot Documentary, January 1, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Ancient Mysteries: Bigfoot [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is probably the best documentary on Bigfoot that has ever been done before. It almost treats it as if Bigfoot does exist. There is even one part in the film where they try to give an accurate analysis of the lifestyle of this creature. If you are, like me, into cryptozoology or a Bigfoot enthusiast, then this video is for you. I would recommend buying this video now because I truly believe Bigfoot will be "discovered" and proven to be an unknown species of ape that survived the Ice-Age and has remained hidden up until the Twenty-First Century.

5.0 out of 5 stars Let's Jump the next plane to the Pacific Northwest!, July 24, 2001
This review is from: Ancient Mysteries: Bigfoot [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Ok, so not everyone's enthralled with the Bigfoot phenomena, but let's face it, there are many of us who eat this stuff up! This is the first video I've purchased on the subject and enjoyed it thoroughly (that Patterson video footage is creepy...)! The eccentric Peter Byrne (a former big-game hunter who headed up an expedition called "The Bigfoot Research Project" from 1993-97) offers some interesting views on the Sasquatch subject. Narrator Leonard Nimoy also engrosses you into the subject matter. I most enjoyed Dr. Grover Krantz's (a university professor) theories and views on the Patterson film. There was some footage included from a 1992 sighting which I have some reservations about (two yahoos see a pair of Sasquatch eyeballs peering at them through the foliage). But, overall, a VERY enjoyable 50 minutes and it definitely leaves you hungry for more.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must See For Both Believers And Sceptics, April 16, 2001
This review is from: Ancient Mysteries: Bigfoot [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Lots of information in this video, and plenty of facts to answer common questions regarding if Bigfoot is real or not. Some interesting facts were that some bigfoot print casts display dermal ridges, same as fingerprints, what hoaxer would take the time to do this? How can something as big as Bigfoot exist in todays world and not be seen? Since World War II there has been 73 aircraft lost in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, and they haven't been found either. Why haven't we found remains of a Bigfoot? According to Peter Byrnes, in over 20 years of asking he has yet to talk to anyone that has found the remains of bears that have died naturally in the forest, and we know bears exist. I'm adding it to my MUST GET VIDEO list.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good beginner guide to Bigfoot, October 28, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Ancient Mysteries: Bigfoot [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The best "evidence" of Bigfoot, namely the Patterson film is featured in this documentry. Most of the best positive arguments of bigfoots existance is given however there is some questionable footage of bigfoot shot through bushes that reveals very little. Though the Patterson film is feature, I was disappointed to see that no other credible footage was shown. The producers are quick to lable "hoax' photos as such but I would have liked to see more photos and footage. Leonard Nimoy as usual is a great narrator and the production of this documentry is superb. There is also a clip of the Bigfoot "Howl' that will curdle your blood. All in all I give it high ranks. It's got more information than those campy docu-dramas from the 1970's. END

4.0 out of 5 stars It is worth seeing., May 15, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Ancient Mysteries: Bigfoot [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The video offers quality substance of coherent inquiry touching whether or not the existance of such a beast is feasible. The inclusion of "novel" affirming material endows the film with a "breath of fresh air" essence.

However, one of the amatur films purported to be of the beast could have been edited without harming the film. Indeed, some of the positive witnesses included in the documentary exude a slightly questonable quality while being interviewed. (I wouldn't want their court testimony on my behalf :) Surely other footage more worthy of review could have been included.

Even so, the study demonstrates sound work, comes packaged respectably, and warrants the investment of anyone geniunely interested in Bigfoot.

This is one of the first Sasquatch videos I had ever seen. It presents the material beautifully if a little dated. I had to get it for the collection. THis had lots of data, and was narrated well by Leonard Nimoy [ another bonus!!]
its one of the cryptozoology videos you simply have to have!
