a wee visit to Scotland from your arm chair,

this is a wonderful book, loaded full of the many moods of Ancient Scotland. Gorgeous photography, it touches on the Western Isle, Invasion of the Norsemen, the Norman Conquest, the Dun, Brochs and vitrified fortress of Scotland, as well as some of the lore, plus Glen Coe, the Jacobites, Bonnie Prince Charlie and Culloden. A very good introduction for someone wanting to get a wee feel of Scotland beyond Braveheart. |
