Product Description
In ancient times, the DivineFeminine was known to be the key to awakening the wisdom at the core of one'sbeing. This wisdom aspect of the Divine Feminine was called Sophia. But forthousands of years, access to the wisdom of Sophia has been eclipsed by patriarchalthinking. One of the essential teachings lost as a result is the awareness thatseparateness is an illusion and death has no power. In An Ancient Tear, yearsafter her first born dies at birth, Sophie embarks on an unpredictable and richinner journey in search of her daughter's spirit and, in the process, rediscovers Sophia."An Ancient Tear is acompelling story of how a mother's wounds of losing a child through death, miscarriage, abortion, and adoption can be healed through a connection to andwith spiritual realms. Carol Schaefer is a brilliant writer and brings herreaders right into the experience she shares. This book is filled with love, compassion, and healing words. In a time where so many womenand men are searching for answers that can't be answered through ordinarymeans, Schaefer lets us know that we can turn to the spiritual realms forcomfort, answers and healing."Sandra Ingerman,Author Soul Retrievaland Medicine for the Earth

5.0 out of 5 stars Healing through Insight, September 8, 2004
My mother-who came to know this author through her writing on adoption-brought this book to me soon after the death of my precious, only daughter.
The poetic way this author portrays buried grief and gently reveals the power of the greatest force,
of the most hallowed relationship-
that between a mother and her child-
gave me great insight and a feeling of peace.
I feel this book catapulted me into a much deeper place in my
understanding of this process of grieving.
I believe any mother would gain insight from this reading as would any daughter.
I especially recommend this reading to any woman who has suffered
the most excrutiating loss--that of her child.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's like a banquet for the soul..., October 6, 2004
An Ancient Tear took me on many journeys, each one a new surprise, each more soul-filling than the last. I never cried before while reading a book. I definitely will read it again.
