Simply beautiful acoustic ensemble music CD,

If you are a fan of acoustic music artists who play in an ensemble setting, such as Eric Tingstad and Nancy Rumbel, I strongly urge you to give this album a listen. It's superb. Thanks in large part to the participation of Paul McCandless on woodwinds, the music on this CD is wonderful either as background accompaniment to daytime activity or even just played while relaxing in the living room, after dinner. The melodies are warm and friendly, the musicianship on the part of everyone is inspired, and the overall feeling of the recording is one of appreciation for nature and a simpler way of life. The nature sounds that are blended in with the music do not detract but instead flesh out the nature-themes and the engineering is textbook. Neither too calm or too dramatic, ANCIENT VOICES is just flat out a great acoustic instrumental recording. While there are some electronic keyboards, lovers of the pure and simple will delight in this album. In particular, if you're hosting a dinner party, this one will draw praise from your guests (if they have any taste, that is!).
