Ancient Wisdom Modern Insight, December 31, 2007
This review is from: Ancient Wisdom - Modern Insight (Quest Books) (Hardcover)
----------1875-----
The Ancient Wisdom, under the guise of theosophy, makes a historical reappearance, introducing such controversial concepts as reincarnation, karma, evolution, the Godhead present in every man, life's interconnectedness (that there is a mutual correlation between a star and a man). Science or religion, or both, strenuously reject this world view.
----------Over One Century Later-----
The Ancient Wisdom is reviewed by theosophical student Shirley Nicholson. Has theosophy affectedd Western culture over these many years? Do science and religion now recognize the validity of such concepts? Totally? In part? Not at all?
****************
In this lively presentation of theosophical thought, the author demonstrates that some of the ideas outlined in The Secret Doctrine of H. P. Blavatsky have now entered our culture, that new scientific advances, new religious mind-sets, have begun to authenticate this "wisdom of the gods." We note this in the increasing interest in such things as meditation, yoga, holistic medicine, ritual, subatomic physics, etc. All of which might be termed the gradual spiritualization of society.
