In combination with Ancor Marine Grade adhesive-lined heat-shrink tubing, these butt connectors ensure watertight, continuous, durable splices. I did not notice any cuts or tears in the nylon sheath after crimping with a professional-grade tool. As with any heat-shrink product, care must be taken to deflect the heat gun's output away from any sensitive components.
