This definitely ranks higher to me than the previous season, though I thought six was great as well. Overall the plot holes were kept to a minimum, the storylines were kept fairly consistent and evenly paced, and even though the latter half of the season seemed to be drifting in no direction, I was glad to see that there was a direction at the very end. A lot of people complained about yet another revenge storyline, but Paul/Felicia was THE original revenge/counter revenge plot, and I was glad to see that it finally came full circle, as well as Andrew/Carlos' story from six seasons (ten or so years) earlier.

Best parts of the season:
1. Andrew/Carlos' storyline
2. Paul's scheme (main mystery)
3. Felicia's revenge
4. Lynette and Tom's marriage (towards end, it spices things up)
5. Lee and Bob getting more screen time

Worst parts of the season:
1. Bree and Keith - favorite character, too many romance stories
2. Susan's 'housecleaning' job
3. Renee's character was very under-used

Well, that's about it for me. I am really looking forward to the eighth season. Judging from the cliffhanger, it looks like the women will be united in the next season's mystery. That's something that's been lacking for somet time now.

I have been a huge fan of this show since season 4 and have since then watched all of the episodes. I got all excited at the season 6 finale, and this season had a lot of great stuff in it.

However, good things must come to an end, and I was hoping that this season would be the one to wrap it all up. Some of the plot twists in this season felt somewhat forced, and with the season finale that happened with Gabrielle's stepfather left me with the sinking feeling that with that episode, this show that I have loved for a long time may have jumped the shark. I will watch season 8, but I'm afraid it'll just get silly.

Edit - I hear now that Season 8 will be the last one. This makes me sad, but also relieved.

Watching the final episode of each season of "Desperate Housewives" is like taking that last bite of cheesecake, knowing you should have just said no when the first piece was offered. You swear you're not going to indulge yourself with such abandon next time, but by noon the next day you're wondering when the bakery will have a fresh batch ready.

So what happened this season on Wisteria Lane, that upper-middle-class slice of suburban America that has seen more divorce than Las Vegas, more sex than 42nd Street in the 70's, and more violence than the Balkans? Well, pretty much the same thing that happened in all the previous seasons. Good-looking people had illicit sex. Lots of it. Marriages strained and sometimes snapped. Murders were attempted. Some succeeded. And Susan perkily - and annoyingly -- stumbled and crashed into and out of one crisis after another.

Why, then, do I pre-order every season of this silly series? Why, once it arrives, do I scarf down all 20+ episodes in five days (or less) of marathon watching?

Well, it's like this . . . . Buried inside each comic book episode are elegiac little pearls of sweet humaneness. One untenable little scrape after another leaves a character who marched in with self-assured abandon confronting the fact that all our actions have consequences, that the best of intentions can deliver the deepest wounds, that friends matter, and that every day can be a new starting point for trying to do better if you just have a stout heart and sincere desire to be good.

Yes, it's fluff. But it's pure fluff.

Now, when can I pre-order Season 8?

"Desperate Housewives", the popular ABC drama series (created by Marc Cherry, "The Golden Girls", "The Golden Palace", "Amas de casa despesperadas") which started back in 2004 definitely has gone through some major ups and downs with its dark comedy storylines to its complex marriage or relationship problems but if there is one thing definite about the series... its that the the fans love it and to keep the fans interested.
