4.0 out of 5 stars Deaf Peds is fresh, June 3, 2009
I was in Best Buy one day looking for some random rock to help me branch out a bit and when I saw the cover of this album, I knew that if the songs matched up with the personality on the cover it was going to be good.
It was almost instant, the grin that formed when the first song began to play and it didn't go away until the last song had played. The whole album is full of good songs, many with themes you typically never hear like "Hail to the Geek" and its ode to those that love everything sci-fi, "Seatbelt" about why you should probably wear it, and one of my personal favorites "We the Sheeple" which wags a finger at the general populace for being a mob that lets themselves be influenced like a herd of sheep.
Something also worth pointing out is the singing style, which is to say it's very versatile and goes from sing song calm to metal scream, sometimes in the same song.
I'm looking forward to great things from this band, I just hope they can get some greater exposure so more people can hear them; speaking of, their next album is set to release on June 16th so keep an eye out.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Album With Slight Disapointments, February 26, 2008
This album is a really good major label debut. The entire album rocks from start to finish, good vocals, good lyrics, good guitar parts, and everything else. There are a couple issues I have about the album though. One is that there are only 4 songs that are brand new on this album. "Seatbelt", "Hail To The Geek", "Idiot", and "SOS" All the rest of the songs are on the indie label self-titled debut. I was hoping for an album with 11 or more brand new tracks and not the almost exact record with the exact same songs. The other thing I have issues with is that they didn't put the song "Bad Girl, Bad" on this album. It's a really good song that they've play live. Even though I've only heard this song once, it is my favorite by the band, and it's a shame that they didn't record a studio version of the song. Anyways, besides those two things it is a really good record. I'm glad that "Seatbelt" made it on the album as I have heard this song live as well and really like it. My favorite on the album is "Idiot" but all the tracks are great!

4.0 out of 5 stars Another great stright-up rock band!!!, February 12, 2008

This review is from: ...And Other Distractions [Explicit] (MP3 Download)
I first heard these guys with "15 Bears Ago" last year on my local modern rock radio station (WNLF of Macomb, IL). Atfer finding the original independent release on Emusic I downloaded it all. These guys remind me a lot of bands like the Toadies and the Burden Brothers. Other great tracks are current radio favorite "Hail to the Greek" and "Vampire Girl". If you like straight-up rock 'n roll without finding the need to pigeonhole it into some specific genre, then you will love these guys.
