About the Author

David Icke, the author of eight books, tours the globe addressing increasingly larger audiences. Many have called him "the most controversial speaker in the world." David was born in Leicester, England in the United Kingdom. He started his career as a professional soccer player until 1973, at age 21, rheumatoid arthritis ended his career. He ventured into journalism and regional television until 1980, when he became a network television news and sports caster until 1990. An experienced environmental campaigner since 1982, Icke has a history of setting up environmental pressure groups. He became the National Spokesman for the British Green Party from 1988 until 1991. While working with the Green Party Icke started to research into issues such as Third World debt, its true causes, and how could be effectively resolved. Icke soon uncovered a disturbing pattern of events and exploitation that was to change the direction of his life forever. As his research progressed Icke left the Green Party and committed himself totally to his research. From 1991 until the present day Icke has become a man with mission. Icke seeks to research and expose the truth about the nature of the human race, how we have been conditioned, the manipulation of the world today, and how we can set ourselves free.

Author David Icke has written a conspiracy book with a more liberal viewpoint than usual. He refers to a lot of New World Order researchers from the left and right and explains and summarizes various plots well. Conspiracy buffs may have heard of a lot of this material before, so I can't really say it's original. Icke subcribes to using your mind as your "flexible friend" rather "rigid taskmaster" chained to some dogma that rejects other ways of thinking. He has an interesting approach to his research and does not hesitate to criticize the left, the right, Darwinists, Christians, Jews, New Agers, or any belief system that claims to have an unerring dogmatic truth.

Icke has gotten into trouble for criticizing some Jewish organizations and when one talks of conspiracy theories, there are some who think that (wink wink) you are really just talking about the Jews. He has read some books that people critical of Jews have read and comes to different conclusions about the information he has discovered. He thinks that it is just a few Jews who have betrayed other Jews and are in cahoots with the New World Order. He explains how many Nazis were "Jewish" selling out their own people and supporting Hitler financially and otherwise, along with the ruling families of the Illuminati who were supposedly on the allied side. The allegedly Jewish Arthur Rosenberg, one of Hitler's own, is mentioned by Icke in the book. Icke also mentions Allen Dulles of US state department, a gentile who supported Hitler while seemingly on the Allied side. According to Icke, Hitler was part of the grand conspiracy, but was duped eventually by the people above him. Icke explains how the Illuminati creates most wars and then finances both sides my manipulating human nature.

A must for the shelf of any conspiracy researcher. While I was not always able to follow the threads of who knew whom and what their connections in history were, I know the documentation is there if I ever need it. The man knows whereof he speaks, and it is in our best interest to understand what he is trying to say. There are ugly things happening in this world, in this country (USA) and in this developing "Global Community," that we cannot afford to turn a blind eye to. It is crucial to become aware, to pay attention, and to understand what is happening. We won't be able to make a difference after the fact. We create the world we want. We can use the power of our minds and hearts to change the course of history. First, we must be aware. "Education" is not what you pay for in a University. Education is the power and the responsibility to think for yourself. Only then will we be free.

In all fiction there is some truth. What "shakes out" after reading this book explains much of what is really going on in the world today. Now I understand how and why our health care system is being destroyed through the government and who is profiting as a result. What shakes out explains Kosovo, Timor, Desert Storm, Mexico, India, China, and all the players on the world stage in a manner too familiar to anyone who follows the news. However, I agree that some of the material seems to be disinformation and I am forced to wonder whether Mr. Icke is one of THEM. If he truly wished to expose a global control conspiracy (The New World Order) in a believable fashion, the 4th dimension and ET's, vibrations and other New Age claptrap would have been left out of this writing. However, if he wanted to totally discredit his own theory of global control by an "elite" few, and to make anyone who took it seriously look like a nutcase, he almost succeeded. Read this book as fiction, get past the first chapter, then think real hard about what is happening around the world and what part of this might be true. See what "shakes out." If you are thinking of voting in the next presidential election, this is must reading.

"And the Truth shall set you free" has become one of my all time favorite books. In it David Icke uncovers some of the hidden forces that are unrelentingly attempting to control our lives. Whatever your political persuasion you will not be the same ever again after reading this book, so be warned. An interesting cocktail of new age, political and philosophical thinking, all his sources of information have been carefully documented so the reader may check for himself the authenticity of the material. As a former political researcher for several years, I was able to check and verify some (but not all) of the content of this book, and came to the reluctant conclusion that Icke's assumptions are fundamentally correct. Critics of David Icke call him an anti- semite. Let me say for the record I found absolutely no evidence of this whatever and furthermore vigourous attempts to stifle David Icke from speaking out lead me to one conclusion. David Icke may be getting very near to the truth! Readers be warned you will never be able to watch a news story or read a newspaper in the same light ever again. Overall an excellent read!
