5.0 out of 5 stars It'll make you dance!
This is the first flamenco-style cd I've ever purchased and I'm sure glad that I did! All the songs, whether fast or slow, make you want to dance...it's just about the best cd I have ever bought from only hearing one sample. If you're looking for passionate guitar...this is it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic flamenco that quickly gets you moving., March 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Andalusian Nights (Audio CD)
I bought this album after hearing clips of two cuts--the last copy in the store. I couldn't wait to play the whole CD--the wait was rewarded. Govi's music moves you like that of Ottmar Liebert, Jesse Cook, and Oscar Lopez. You can't listen without getting up and moving. If you like the new flamenco, buy it.

I cannot believe someone rated this cd a 2 star. He must be kidding...or maybe he has no spirit or soul. Andalusian nights woke up every human cell in my body. I've listened to it hundreds of times in my car. I found the cd by chance by browsing in the library, now I want to explore all his other cds. Everyone who happened to listen to it while I have it on is hooked. When I listen to this music - I feel as if I am flying on top of beautiful sunny beaches and towns in Spain. You must get it! 5.0 out of 5 stars Govi comes back with a masterpiece, March 4, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Andalusian Nights (Audio CD)
First of all my wife is from Andalucia, so I can relate to the title.

I own all of his CD's, Cuchama is a strong album, but this one really shows that Govi has mastered once again his truly unique sound.

His scales are very melodic and overall the music really takes you into another dimension. I like Govi, his music inspires me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Back to Spain on the cheap, May 8, 2006
This review is from: Andalusian Nights (Audio CD)
Another review that I should have submitted years ago. "Andalusian Nights" is the third consecutive upbeat Govi CD, following "Passion & Grace" and "Guitar Odyssey". I spent two months in 1973 touring Spain; camping and spending nights in pensiones (sic) with college friends. The songs from this CD take me back on a return trip that we promised to take, but never did. I liked this Govi CD, with his trademark feel good/lively sound, when I purchased it upon original release but did not fully appreciate the music until just a couple of years ago; not a clunker track on the entire CD. Cuts #2,3 (great fiddle playing),and 5 will bring out your best on even a bad day and the rest of the CD is introspective music that I never tire of hearing. My experience with Govi's music is that people of all ages including my mother (81 years old), her friends, my friends, and young people all appreciate the sound of this talented artist. 5.0 out of 5 stars Truly Magical Music, July 27, 2002
This review is from: Andalusian Nights (Audio CD)
I think I picked up Govi's "Andalusian Nights" in a bargain bin somewhere...and what an incredible find!! This is the music that often plays through my house throughout the weekend when I am hanging with the family, relaxing and barbequing with friends. It sets a mood of relaxation and thoughts of far away lands and adventures. It's magical and beautiful and it flows with some kind of rhythym that you just can't help to react to...so I'm here checking out Govi and trying to figure out which one I should choose next. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful intimate album, March 12, 2004
By
This review is from: Andalusian Nights (Audio CD)
I first heard this album at a HIGH END audio store in Costa Mesa, CA. The sales person used it as a demo to show how good the equipment sounded. The music was so pretty and so well recorded that I went and bought it. Govi's guitar is beautifully recorded. (You know the artists cared about the sound they put on the CD when the liner notes tell you the type of microphones and amps used.) The album is recorded with all the close miked warmth of many new age guitarists, but is more lush. The music sensual and very inviting -- a nifty mix of Latin rythms, and "nouveau flamenco" guitar work -- light and airy, like an intimate spot overlooking the ocean at sunset. It is nice to get away from the typical rock, soft jazz, and other assorted junk played on the radio.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best record I've bought in a long time, May 26, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Andalusian Nights (Audio CD)
Downloaded Andalusian Nights as MP3 and it took me about 3 seconds to deside that I should buy this record
There is not a single tune on this album that is NOT worth listening to. There are few albums I have encountered where every single track is a hit, but here it is
BUY IT
