This review is from: Anderson Fittings AU6C-FF-46 "Ace" Compression Adapter 1/4" M X 3/8" F (Misc.)
This fitting works great to adapt a 1/4" compression fitting to an existing 3/8" compression shut-off valve. 1/4" compression is the usual icemaker supply line size....the 3/8" compression is the usual faucet supply line size. I've used this fitting on a dual 3/8" outlet supply valve to convert one outlet into a 1/4" for the icemaker and leave the remaining 3/8" outlet for the faucet. This type of fitting will usually include a small flat gasket (plastic) to seal to the existing valve. So take care not to loose it before installation. I rate this 3 stars based on the fact that it is way too costly for a fitting that will never be seen. Yes it is chrome plated brass and looks nice, but there is a WATTS brass fitting that works just as well and is less then $4 at most local hardware stores. |
