These clippers are awesome, but they are not getting the reviews the deserve. I have noticed most people have know idea what they are buying when it comes to these clippers. This clipper was designed for fades and to make the cut faster. This should not be your main clipper. Repeat this should not be your main clipper!!! The motor is strong. It has some weight to it, meaning its very durable. It does not get hot as fast as some of the other Andis products. its dummy proof, this is why you do not need guards. Its called the PHAT MASTER BECAUSE the blade is PHAT, its huge. you can cut anything from a 1 to a 2. if you want a finer cut than that you'll have to pull out your fade masters, improved masters, or (like me) oster classic 76's. Please research the items you buy. if you cut your own hair these will do the job, even stevens and fades, you're home free. Great set of pro grade clippers.

CLIPPERS START AT THE NUMBER ONE AND DOES NOT GET SKIN TIGHT. THEY MAKE A LOT OF NOISE EVEN WHEN LUBRCATED AND CLEANED. NOISE IS ALMOST UNBEARABLE. BUT, THEY DO CUT VERY FAST AND DONT GET STUCK IN THICK HAIR.

Look Ma!!! No Guard!!! I am more than happy with this product! They look and feel great! I think they will have the same longevity of the Andis Improved Master. They seem to be the same clipper with a paint job and a different blade and for me that is good news! I gave away a pair of Andis Masters last year, to a friend who is also a Barber, that I had for 15 years. They still worked as they did the day I purchased them, on the day I gave them away! Therefore, I have faith in this product!

They cut a mean Wave Caesar!!! WOW!!!! You won't need your guards! These adjust from the length #1 to that of a #2 guard. No more buying guards from #2 and under! I would recommend this clipper to anyone who enjoys cutting hair or even if you don't and need a good pair of clippers to taper and fade with. These don't replace the Improved Masters or Fade Masters for close cuts and bald fades, but they are an excellent companion to either of them to help you achieve a faster, smother taper or fade on longer cuts.

If you cut your own hair or clients hair and you wanna cut a perfect Caesar with or without waves, these are an excellent choice! You wont need a second pair of clippers to do Caesar style cuts, if you have trimmers. Moreover, there is no better way to finish a fade than with these!!! These are a Dream Come True!!!!

The only difference in the Phat Master Clipper and the Improved Master Clipper is the bottom blade. The appearance is different too of course. There are NO COMBS that fit the Phat Master. I purchased this because I fade my hair starting at #1 and fade it up to 2. The top of my hair I use 3 and 4. I thought the recommended combs will fit the Phat Master. NO COMBS FIT!!!. You can buy an Improved Master Blade Set for $25 and change the bottom Phat Blade. You only have to remove 2 screws. Only install the bottom Improved Master blade. Continue the hair cut using combs. Note: The smaller top blades are the exact same.
Or just buy the Improved Master which goes from 000-1 then use combs. I like the look of the Phat Master and would rather just start my fade out with the Phat blade then switch the out to the bottom Improved Master blade, and use combs.

Noticed the clipper began to get very warm after a 20mins. I adjusted the side screw to what is recommended, It was to tight. Not sure if that has anything with the warmth.

Great cut great appearance. Great blade adjust lever. Easy fading from #1A to #2!!
I'd give it a 5 stars if it had COMBs that fit. I don't thing they should advertise "Perfect for All-Around Styling". This is more for just #1A to #2 like the box says. NO COMBS FIT!!!

Great price! Professional grade. Only expected more from the blade. More like a 1/8 cut.

This is my first set of professional clippers. What a difference a few dollars make. Compared to my easy cut pro's these are night and day. I was wolving when i gave myself the first cut and they did not stall one bit in my thick hair. I was able to apply lots of pressure with the clippers everywhere on my head and they cut even with no gaps. I really like the "Phat" blade. For a novus like myself this blade gives my skill level a crutch in those hard to cut areas in the back. If you cut your own hair and are on the fence the Phat Master is the way to go. Its almost impossible to mess up.

Awesome clipper nice to use doing tapes and dark Cesar's don't have to use guards. Keeps it nice and smooth. Really good clipper

Ok, I admit this clipper looks like a gimmick but it really does a great job! I have been a barber for over 15 years, and have seen clippers come and go. Also I have 6 different clippers to choose from. This particular clipper is for transitioning a regular fade. The blade gives a great blend, you will find an additional clipper that has a closer blade is necessary if you want a zero fade. However that is the point of this clipper to be a larger fading blade. You will find blending to be very smooth (depending on your capabilities). I have enjoyed the Phat master.

This is a great supplemental product if you already have the standard masters. I read a few reviews from people that said they were disappointed that they could not use guards on the phat masters. It says on the damn box that these clippers are not used with the plastic clips...that's why you get them the blade adjusts from 1A to 2 using no guards and is great for making your tapers look extra crispy. I like using these on extra curly hair' they really assist with the finished product. Again, use the standard masters for 000 to 1 and these for 1A to 2 and you'll have clean fades everytime. Good product. Andis never fails to impress.
