These are great clippers for home use for the price paid. Besides the fact that red is my favorite color, the black on the exterior of the clippers is rubberized grip for extra grip and control. It certainly makes a difference in comfort and feel. I started to cut my hair just 3-5 minutes after washing it and the blades ran like champs against my hair with little need to keep going over the same spot time and time again. I love these clippers.

Only con, the cord could be a bit thicker for increased durability but other than that, no complaints.

Andis = Quality. I have been cutting peoples hair for some time as a hobby and I can easily say that Andis cutters, regardless of what model you get, are hands down one of the best brands in the business at very reasonable prices! I have been through so many other brands before which were more expensive, cut horribly and had a ridiculously short usage life. So much so, that I assumed that all these cutters were the same until a friend recommended I try Andis out. Well, I did and have never looked back! Andis cutters not only cut better but def. last a whole lot longer... These are def. worth every penny! I am extremely satisfied and i'm sure you will be too! :)

Great product. This is the first time I cut my hair myself. I was very impressed with this set. Very easy to use and obtained the same haircut that I would by the barber and the wife thought the same. The metal plate below the clippers does get warm but not that bad. Certainly beats paying $15.00 for a haircut anyday.

This is my second pair of Andis clippers. The first one lasted me about 4 years. Very powerful and smooth cut. The only downside is that the blade gets a little hot after a while.

It does get warm with constant use. I trim basically non-stop except to switch the blade length attachments. It's never died or growled or anything, just gets warm! It's very simple & easy to clean. Some trimmers I've used have gaps under the blades where the hair seems to get stuck- this does not have any hidden traps for hair!

My only complaint is that you have to run over areas quite a few times to get a smooth even trim. Once we are all done I notice some longer hairs sticking out of areas. For some reason, it just misses them. I'm guessing that the hair build up over the blade as I cut prevents it from being 100% accurate- so maybe it's just my fault. Anyway, the simple solution is I use the scissors in the kit to cut any loose ends. He gets super tight trims & there aren't too many loose hairs anyway. I'm just an absolute perfectionist.

I'm totally happy with this little guy- I'd definitely recommend it!!

Having gone through a litany of clippers due to my short hairstyle, I think I have found a keeper, and these have been the cheapest yet. My main complaint with other clippers is how the guards slide on and are unsecured. That problem is alleviated with a small clip that secures the guard from the back. Though a small thing, it makes a huge difference when you use the clippers a couple times a week. Overall, it is a great value and actually does what it advertises.

Have only used it once but it seems excellent. Cuts my thick hair with ease. No snagging. Lots if different blade options and accessories. Very happy.

The kit is complete, and it works very well. Nice feel and easy to use. For the price, it can't be beat. Can't think of anything that would make it a better value.

I've been cutting my hair for 15 years or so and have used several clippers from Wahl, Conair, and now this Andis Promotor. This is my first pivot motor clipper and I was hoping it would run quieter than the magnetic clippers I'm familiar with. Pivot motors run at half the speed of magnetic motors so I figured they should also run half as loud. I really wanted a quieter clipper than what I've used. Unfortunately, this Andis Promotor makes just as much noise. The added torque of the pivot motor has the adverse effect of having more pronounced vibration than a magnetic clipper. This is quite frustrating since people have praised the Oster Fastfeed, a similar pivot motor clipper, for being quiet.

The last negative I can point out about this Andis clipper is that the blade gets hot within 5 minutes. The blades are oiled and it gets so hot that you can't touch the blade more than a few seconds. I ran my Wahl Chrome at the same time and its blades was barely warm.

The Andis Promotor is a great looking product with sub $30 price. It just wasn't what I expected. Some people who don't use hair clippers often probably won't find fault with it. For me it has to go back. I'll probably get a clipper with a rotary motor. Perhaps I'll get one of the cordless ones for a lower RPM motor.

i bought this for my brother who is over seas. the first time he used it the motor wouldnt run when he had the blade low. weird. i cant return it cuz like i said he is in another country. i will definitely NOT be purchasing this again.
