Andis 20995 Detachable Blade Animal Clipper

We have four Australian Shepherds and have bought many store clippers. None have lasted more than twice. These clippers have given all our dogs their summer cuts with ease. The only thing that would have made the purchase better is if there were attachments included.

If you are looking for serious, professional-quality dog clippers at a great price for home grooming, the Andis 20995 clipper would be an excellent choice. I bought my first Andis clipper when we got a cockerpoo and decided to learn to groom her ourselves. At that time, I bought a comparable professional-quality Andis clipper, hoping it would pay for itself in the long run. That indeed turned out to be the case; however, after 14 years of hard use, the time finally came to replace it (still working, but no longer doing a great job). After much research, I decided on the Andis 20995. Having used it for 3 months now, I can say it is even better than my last clipper. For a price of only about $65, you get a solid, good-feeling clipper that does 3800 strokes per minute (professional quality), which makes it so easy to use and does a terrific job. This clipper is even improved over my previous one because it has a nice long cord (14 feet!), which gives you lots of room to work without running an extension cord. These clippers are a great mid-range option between the inexpensive ones, which are pretty much worthless, and the expensive professional ones that cost more than a home groomer might want to spend.

I ordered these because my wife is a professional groomer and when her clipper blade sharpening guy had health issues she bought all his equipment so I could sharpen her blades. I needed something to test them with after sharpening, and as it turns out all her friends' blades as well. The clippers arrived as advertised, she absconded with the 10 blade that came on them and I have been using them to test blades ever since.

Until one of her clippers developed a bad switch and she borrowed them for back up, she has been grooming with them for a week and they are holding up to constant use by a professional groomer. Can't wait for the new switch for her two speed clippers to get here so I can get "my" clippers back.
