THE BEST CLIPPER OUT THERE!,
By
This review is from: Andis 23175 LightSpeed Animal Clipper (Health and Beauty)
I love this clipper! I'm a professional groomer so my equipment takes a beating. I really like the lights on this clipper. I can now safely shave a tummy without worry!
The lights work great. You can see exactly what you're doing. They do NOT produce heat. The switch has 2 settings so you can choose to have the lights on or off. It has more power than my old Andis, therefore can easily get through anything (so far). It doesn't make as much noise as the older Andis (less scary for the dogs). The blades do not seem to heat up as fast as the older model did. They only heat up if it's jammed up with undercoat, and a quick dip in blade wash seems to solve the problem. The cord is really long, nothing like the older ones. You won't be restricted because of outlet placement. I think this would also be great for clipping horses because it's quiet & powerful, although I don't know if a light is needed for horses? I definitely recommend this clipper. It seems to have the best bang-for-the-buck out there.

Why did I wait?,
This review is from: Andis 23175 LightSpeed Animal Clipper (Health and Beauty)
I've been shaving two cats for many summers now - you'd think it would have occurred to me to buy pro-grade clippers rather than get a cheap set every year that had to be replaced after one use. Not to mention, the cheap clippers would always take anywhere from 1-2 hours per cat. By the end of it, each cat would cry and squirm like a child on a 5-hour road trip. It finally occurred to me that, as a kid, I'd seen people shearing sheep on TV. The sheep have much tougher & thicker fur than cats do, but those clippers would strip the fur off in a manner of seconds - I decided I would find those clippers and pay whatever the price.
Fortunately, I didn't have to look as far or spend as much as I'd expected - I found this clipper set online, read the reviews and put in the order. What a pleasure it is to shave those cats now. It takes 10 minutes (where it used to take at least 45) and it glides through thick cat hair like a knife in warm butter. I've only used it once - time will tell how long it stays effective, but I think as long as I follow the basic maintenance instructions it should last for years.

I have a terrier/poodle/mutt mix lol and I have tried two other clippers to get through his very thick hair and they couldnt do it. This one does it and I am soooo happy to finally find something that can get the job done. If you have a dog with a very dense coat that matts easily this is amazing!

I groom show scotties and it's always hard to see those areas that need clippering (behind the ears, under the chin, neck, etc). With these clippers and that WONDERFUL light--no more worries. At first the dogs wanted to see the light, but that only lasted a little while. I've been using these for about a month, and the only thing I can say is, "Why did it take so long for someone to do this?" Great product--quiet, like the other Andis clippers, and will take almost any blades.

The Andis 23175 LightSpeed Clippers are AWSOME! I just zipped thru grooming one of my schnauzers with ease. They are quiet and the light helps a lot. I'm going to buy a second pair of these in the next couple of weeks. Great clippers!

This clipper is great. It makes the task faster and less stressful for me and my dog (toy poodle) compared to my previous cheap (and basically unusable) clipper. This clipper is quiet. It cuts through her curls easily and does not scratch or scare her. I turn the light off near her face, as another reviewer suggested. I read the instructions completely and follow them exactly. One reviewer noted unhappily that you need to oil the clippers frequently so I was a bit worried about this, but it is incredibly easy to do. The clipper comes with oil. The blade assembly is quick and easy to remove (no tools required). It only takes a few seconds to oil it before you start, every so often while you are working, and when you are done. (I also briefly soak the blade in a little oil when I am done, which gets all the dog hair out.) I love the light. It has a very long cord. It gets hot if you use it for a long time--such as when you are first learning--but cools off quickly if you take a break. I still had to learn how to clip my dog safely and correctly, but the process is much easier with a good clipper.

Hi, I used this to cut my toy poodles hair,it did worked real good except when it had to cut through entangled hairs, thats where I think it can perform better. I have tried other lower models of Andis and for sure its the best in the market so I am satisfied but not jubilant over its purchase.

I realy like the lights on this clipper. It is so much easier to see what I am doing. The clippers also cut realy well. Andis clippers are realy good clippers. Also the cord is realy long.

After reading a lot of reviews I purchased these clippers to shave my cat with (other reviews mentioned saving cats w/ these). They worked great for about 5 minutes and then the low speed on the clippers switched up to high speed. There seemed to be a short in the switch between low & high speed. This is my first time ever using clippers and the first time my cat had ever been shaved. Needless to say my cat and I were both very nervous and we needed the low speed. The high speed scared my cat and also got really hot and just went way too fast and I could not finish the job. I returned the clippers and had to take my cat to a groomer and pay $45 to have them finish the shaving job that I started on her. With that being said... I think I may have received a bad/used pair of clippers because the packaging did look used upon opening but I will not risk buying another pair of these.
