This clipper works ok easy to handle, but it takes me about 60 minutes to clip our dog and the clippers gets hot. I'm disappointed with that,other wise it works good.

I have a miniture Schnauzer who has very thick curly hair. The clippers would not cut at all with the guards on. When I took the guard off, I was able to clip some of his hair. The blade went totally dull half way through and I was forced to go out and buy a whole new set of clippers so that I could finish. Very disapointed (and annoyed). I know that Andis is a good brand of clippers, but this model is not up to par. Also, most of the Andis blades that are availiable will not fit this model.

The clipper did not maintain an even speed, it became overheated & bogged down. I have used the clippers for one grooming. I am not impressed with the quality of this product.

Waste of money. No matter what I tried these clippers would not cut my Scottish Terrier. With or without the guide combs they did not cut hair. I also noticed what another reviewer did in that the clippers just got hot and bogged down even though I oiled the blades. These are junk. I bought a pair of Scaredy Cat clippers that work 100 times better, at least they cut hair. I called Andis to find out if another blade would be better but they couldn't tell me if other Andis blades would fit, this part number was not in their database and the blade it came with looked a little different from their other replacement blades. I threw the whole kit in the trash after it became apparent that the motor was junk.

The demo video was very informational and helpful for dog grooming in general. It didn't rush through the process but, rather, showed every step as it should be done.

However, the clippers are not good at all. Brand new out of the package, they never cut anything. I tried them on several occasions, with my dog's hair ranging from rather long to fairly short. I tried using various guards, as well as no guard at all. It was as if I were just combing my dog's hair; maybe a hair or two would come off, but that was it. (Please note that I have been using another set of clippers to give my husband and sons haircuts for many years. I know how to use electric clippers!)

I called Andis Customer Service several months after my purchase to let them know how disappointed I am in this product. They offered a replacement since I'm within the 1-year warranty period, but since these didn't work new out of the package, I will not pursue getting a replacement.

The scissors included in the kit are nice and sharp, so I'm tossing the clippers and keeping the scissors. I'll just stick with giving my dog scissors-cuts from now on.

I got this because I wanted to trim my poodles. Bad idea. I only used it about 6 times when it just stopped working even after I oiled the clippers each time. I could only get half of one poodle done when the clippers got super hot. I would pick a more expensive clipper if you want it to last long.

Purchased this item in April of 2010, used it once and seemed fine. Every clipping after that took DAYS to get done due to it heating up constantly and hurting the dog by tugging the hair. THIS CLIPPER IS DISCONTINUED. DO NOT PURCHASE. If you try to purchase it will die on you within a few months. The first time you take it apart to thoroughly clean it, you cannot use it ever again. The bracket will not properly refit itself on the clippers, and therefore is completely worthless. ALL REPLACEMENT BLADES FOR THIS ITEM ARE DISCONTINUED. Currently contacting manufacturer for replacement or refund.

It works great......my teenage kids have now done the cat and two dogs.....I might be next! For the money this clipper does an amazing job and has beat my expectations. It even works better, cuts faster and cleaner than the more expensive clippers we have purchased before.
