The Andis Healthy Choices Tourmaline Ceramic Dryer is a dual wattage dryer: 1875 watts and 1200 watts of drying power. Use lower wattage setting for gentle styling and to conserve energy. The tourmaline crystals, crushed from precious gemstones, emit negative ions that quickly seal the cuticle layer and eliminate frizz for smoother, silkier hair. The ceramic preserves moisture, creating incredible luster and shine. Ionic technology dries hair faster by breaking up water molecules. The dryer features 2 heat/wattage settings for styling control. The unit also had a cool shot button to lock in styles. Designed and engineered in the United States, Andis also offers a complete line of quality clippers and trimmers for consumers and animal grooming as well as a full line of wall mounted hair dryers for the hotel industry. Andis warrants its products to the original purchaser against defective material or workmanship for five years from the date of purchase. All implied warranties are also limited to five years. Bought this product last June. Then it stopped working after two months. Have to get a exchange, and again the exchanged one stopped working yesterday. Just dead. Do not buy this, it's a waste of money. Will not ever buy this brand again.

I have fine hair and was looking for a low-power dryer because a normal hair dryer would blow all the body out of my hair. The Andis 80605 with dual wattage settings handles the matter well. It does not actually blow with less power but the lower wattage setting allows time for a bit of brush styling before the hair is totally dry. It works well for the style of hair (short) and type of hair (fine) I have. I am quite happy with the product.

I bought this for the low eco friendly 1200 watt setting - the heat is not that hot. you have to use the dryer for a longer period of time to fully dry hair. It might be more eco friendly for you to just use the 1875 watt setting for a shorter amount of time.

it's pretty loud on any watt setting.

Overall, I just wanted a cheap dryer to use for a year - it gets the job done and the attachments are pretty neat.
