This hair dryer works very well with thick, curly, and ethnic hair. It seals the cuticle nicely which makes the hair shine. The dryer is LOUD. I am not sure why they call it quiet on the box. However, I would definitely would buy this product again.

Great product ! Drys hair quickly. Not as quiet as I would have hoped when using high blowing speed.
