My clipper of choice,
By As you can often find the 2-speed version for the same price, it's really your choice. The following largely repeats my review of the 2-speed model, which I own. The single speed model is otherwise identical. I've owned a variety of clippers from both Andis and Oster, and this - in the 2-speed version - is my favorite - as well as the one I use on my own head! It takes standard, replaceable blades (same type as Oster), though I prefer Andis' own Ultra Edge blades. It is much quieter than the Oster clippers and fits my hand better. The case on the Andis is sealed. In practice it does not seem to run any hotter than the Oster clippers and, of course, you don't have any worry about getting clipper cleaner or hair into the motor. The clipper comes with a 000 blade, which fits the included snap-on combs. The 000 blade is sized to take standard combs. The remainder of the blade line is physically larger - you'll find them more convenient for everyday use, quite honestly. Combs are best relegated to filling in for blades you don't own. The 2 speed feature is a nice-to-have (i.e., unless you regularly cut a lot of very heavy hair, you probably won't miss it). I don't find that I use it much on my 2-speed model, though. If you are new to clippers and wondering why these (and the equivalent Osters) are so much more expensive, the major difference is the motors. Top of the line clippers use pivot motors - motors that have a physical mechanism to move the blade from side-to-side. Pivot motors are stronger and will cut wet hair effortlessly. Cheaper clippers use magnetic motors, basically that "shake" the blade back and forth by using magnets, and they bog down too easily. The really cheap clippers also typically have horrible blades.

Not what I ordered,

This review is from: Andis Easy Cut 8 Piece Kit with Fade Brush (Health and Beauty)
This is a great product for the novice barber but it was not what I ordered. There are two combs included but you can do very little with them--need more combs. Now I am forced to order them for this product--which was not what I ordered in the first place. Other than that it was worth what I paid for it--the price was great!

Terrible Product,

It had a faulty power switch, it wouldn't stay on. When I used it, it pulled my beard painfully. Not recommended. Buy a Wahl. I wish I did.
