I found this book very good. It takes place way in the future were the world & it's socity it very different. Andra, the main character becomes blind & docters have to relpace that part of her brain with the brain of a young boy from 1987 in order for her to live in socity. Andra, begans to see things that the boy saw like cows, trees, ect. See also see's what it was like in 1987, were your IQ did not decided how long you would live. I can't tell u to much more because it would ruin it for u. It is a great book though & I would highly recemend for any one.

This is the most creative, enchanting book I've ever read. The non-stop intrique drove me to the end before I thought I'd even started this delightful adventure about an unusually strong-willed girl driven by a new vision to improve life for human kind in a dark, futuristic, underground world. It's your loss if you don't read it.

I read this book and it was awesome. This book takes place 2000 years into the future when people have moved under ground because the surface is no longer inhabitible for man kind. It is about a girl, named Andra, who has a brain graft and the brain they used is from a boy who died in 1987. She soon starts to see the world through the eyes or that boy, and realizes that life in the confines of Sub City One is not free. So she gets all the youth together and they start an open rebellion against the director of the city. It is a very good book

Andra,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Andra (Paperback)
Genre: Science Fiction
Three sentence summary: Andra is a girl who gets a brain transplant. After she gets the brain transplant, she sees the world differently. She starts showing people that they should not have others control them, but to be free. What I liked most about the book: I liked how Andra speaks freely, and could prove to other people that they should rule themselves. What I didn't like and why: I did not like how Cromer forced Syrd to destoy the ships because Syrd should be able to make his own choices. My favorite character and why: Andra is my favorite character because she doesn't care what other people think about her, and she does whatever she wants. The scene, line, or passage that meant something to me and why (page#): Page 195. "They will find out," Andra said. "If they aren't taught, then they experience trial and error. Some die, some live. Does it matter how many die as long as some live?" This quote shows how Andra wants to help other people start a new life. What I would say about this book to someone else: This book shows the effect of one person. It also proves that young people can make a difference. One question I have after reading this book: Why did Andra go and see the ships before they lifted off and were gone forever? My stongest reason for recommending this book: This book was really exciting, because it is about a teenager like me.

Man, I loved this book. A nuclear holocaust has made the surface of the planet uninhabitable, so the survivors have been forced to move underground. These underground communities are in an almost constant state of war with one another, and their rules are becoming more and more encroaching. In a future where everyone looks the same and art is edited, the only hope for survival is to go to the stars, and the only way to survive the stars is Andra.

This is my favorite book in the entire world! I first read it 7 years ago and have not tired of reading it. It is an inspirational story of a girl that dares to defy the constraints of her society. I think that everyone should read this book, if given the opportunity! :)

A Kid's Review

This was a great book. It is set on a futuristic earth, devastated by a nuclear war. Humans live only underground, and most life has disappeared. People are controlled as if they are puppets. The government produces nearly identical people with identical thoughts and minds. Then, Andra gets a brain graph from a boy who died in 1987. Suddenly, she starts to see things that he saw, and remember what he remembered. She realizes that the life she leads is not free at all. This haunting book is a wonderful example of science fiction. I highly reccomend this book to anyone and everyone.
