good movie, March 2, 2007
This review is from: Andre the Butcher (DVD)
this is one of those movies that is great to watch with a bunch of friends on a huge tv and just laugh!
it has ron jeremy as the main murder which you will see in the middle of the movie and it has black metal as the back ground music all through the movie which is just great! it makes the atmosphere of the movie more intense it has a few jumpy parts but its basically a horror comedy. gets kind of raunchy in the middle but still worth the money if you want a horror comedy movie!

Genuine Laughs from Spoof Horror Comedy, July 1, 2006
This review is from: Andre the Butcher (DVD)
If you're going into this film expecting a serious horror flick introducing the newest Jason/Freddy/Michael Meyers, you're going to be disappointed. This film has no intention of providing the next Jigsaw or Candyman, but falls firmly into the same horror subgenre as Shawn of the Dead and Mobile Home Massacre. For the unenlightened, this means campy horror with vivid gore, pointless boobies, and plenty of extras who bite the dust moments after they first cross the screen.
I love the horror genre, everything from The Sixth Sense to Tremors, from budgetless B-flicks to slick Hollywood disasters like 13 Ghosts. I don't care how bad it it; I'll watch it. The cover of Andre the Butcher prompted me to pick it up, and I expected a trashy cross between Hostel and Dr. Giggles. What I got was a blood-drenched romp that never takes itself too seriously and understands exactly what it wants to be without delving into the self-aware "hip" factor of the Scream series.
Ron Jeremy plays Andre, and the rest of the cast is - for the most part - a series of attractive throw-aways. The dialogue is silly, the film works a few running jokes that actually made me laugh out loud, and the movie tossed in everything from skin-eating to lesbian cheerleaders, a Jackie Brown wannabe to 70s style kung fu action, a perverted cop and a con with a small bladder, and so much more. There are tons of plot holes, but you don't watch something like this for the plot anyway. Low rent but a lot of fun, the back of the movie case makes the best suggestion for this movie - perfect for a party flick.
Recommended for the non-pretentious who enjoyed Army of Darkness or Tales from the Crypt.

Worth Seeing!, July 14, 2006
This review is from: Andre the Butcher (DVD)
not sure why all these bad reviews, those people obviously didn't get it. The film does not take itself too seriously.
The movie was very funny, and the plot kept me interested all the way through and I also enjoyed the narrator in the movie , who kind of reminded me of "uncle jesse" from dukes of hazzard. The film also had a good message in the end, which you don't often find in today's horror films. See it today...if you don't see this it will be a sin!
