I received this DVD with much surprise:this is actually the DVD version for Andre's last CD "Musik zum Traurmen" (also known as Aimer/Dromen/Dreaming) released in 2001, not for the new US version "Dreaming" CD though they share the same cover (only four tracks are the same). It seems that Andre does confuse his fans and Amazon's editor misled their customers. However, I love this DVD just the same because this is a great performance with very beautiful music and Andre presents each piece by himself. I won't regret to have it even I already have the video. Any Andre's fan should buy this.

I must say that this dvd of Andre Rieu is one of the most relaxing and interesting dvd's of his. I love the music and the stories that Andre tells, especially of his childhood days and how he was so impressed with musicians and violins, practicing, and how this was the fore-runner to his becoming the incredible violinist that he is today. His versions of "Send in the Clowns", "Morning", "Aria" from Madame Butterfly, "Ballade", and "The Gadfly"...many more, are so beautiful. He could play any song and make it sound so incredibly beautiful. I'm so impressed with him and the beauty, love and romance, and happiness that he exudes when he plays. I wish that I could thank him personally for all the happiness he has brought to me when he plays his wonderful violin music. The stories he tells in this dvd, and watching him tell these stories, brings me such pleasure. I NEVER tire of hearing and seeing it!

I have never disliked anything Andre recorded. His presentations are always fresh and unique. This dvd called Dreaming is great because he talks and explains his feelings on making music and some of the backgrounds of he and his orchestra. It makes you feel somehow like you have become a friend and he wants you to know what he thinks of the music and the people surrounding him. I have most of his dvds and although some of the musical selections are the same beloved favorites, they are always presented in a down to earth people pleasing way that delights both young and old listeners.

For anyone who is planning to purchase this Dreaming DVD, please be aware that the titles of songs listed on this website do not actually match the titles that are on the DVD. This purchase was a big disappointment!

I have been an Andre Rieu fan but not after Dreaming. It is nothing but a collection of out takes which should have been included on his other CDs.

One reason I have been a Rieu fan is that his DVDs feature lively concerts. The Dreaming DVD not only does not contain a live concert, the music is dull, poorly arranged and poorly played. And there is just too damn much of Rieu and too little of the orchestra.

"La vie est belle" is one of Rieu's better DVDs. It was a concert in Berlin. The biggest gripe I have with Rieu's DVDs is that they contain only a part of the concerts, concerts which go on for two hours but less than an hour is on the DVD. Not in Dreaming. There are no concerts, only two 42 minute segments and no interesting extra features. The first segment contains some of the later music in the "La vie est belle" concert. Viewers of that DVD will remember that Rieu mentions that it might rain. Well it did rain and portions are shown in Dreaming.

After watching this DVD I was so disgusted that I threw the DVD in the waste basket. Then I thought again. I pulled it out because I mmight give it to someone else. But then that would be such a dirty trick to do to anyone so I again threw it in the trash.

Beautiful Photograghy and relaxing excellent music

Andre Rieu continues to grow in popularity in New Zealand. From slow beginnings to now the desire to se or hear him is like an avalanche. Dreaming is a great watch full of beautiful melodies

I cannot say enough good words about this DVD. Andre Rieu is the greatest.

For those with short attention spans or cynical tendencies, this is not a suitable DVD. However, if you are stressed by the demands of daily life and would like an escape into a dream world of lovingly-selected music set to gorgeous European scenery, this DVD makes valium unnecessary. Sit down with a glass of wine or chamomille tea and let Andre Rieu serenade you with this collection (made around 2000). It's fun to see Andre's sweet, open personality as he sits cross-legged in front of a crackling fireplace, telling stories between songs. A rare, personal, artistic look at how this sensitive man interprets his music and life.

I've about worn the DVD and the CD out and will probably be in the market for replacements.
