IGNORE NEGATIVE REVIEWS: Works well with Dragon!,

This review is from: Andrea Headsets Bluetooth Noise Cancelling Monaural Head (Accessory)
I'm not sure what the other users are complaining about while using Dragon Naturally Speaking; I almost didn't buy this wireless microphone because of the negative reviews but decided to get a wired headphone as well to compare their accuracy. I'll probably return the wired headset when it arrives because this one has exceeded all my expectations.
I was willing to take the risk because I work with clients in online multi-media sessions; think Skype, but with a digital whiteboard I can draw on. Having the ability to walk around my office while talking--and not tripping over cords or yanking my ear off--was my base goal in buying this headset. In that regard, it is phenomenal: the sound quality is great when paired with the included USB Bluetooth adapter, and the installation and pairing was incredibly easy to set up. In terms of sound quality, my clients can't tell the difference between this headset and the corded one I had before... and no one has ever complained about either. With the adapter, I can walk about 20 feet away with no noticeable change in sound quality. As a secondary goal, I tested this headset with my iPhone 4.0. You could definitely use it for that purpose while driving or otherwise needing your hands free. I still prefer the iPhone's included earbuds, but I understand why you would want something wireless in the car. The voice control for the iPhone worked perfectly after syncing, even recognizing difficult foreign names and prompting me for different numbers to call if I had multiple entries for a contact. However, the main thing that makes me give this product a 5-star review is that it absolutely works for speech-to-text software. I'm not sure what the other reviewers were doing with their headset--maybe not using the included USB Bluetooth adapter or not placing the microphone close enough to their mouth?--but I have had ZERO issues with Dragon taking dictation while using this headset. The software itself is working great on my tablet PC, and I love being able to walk around my room while dictating my blog, emails, and memos. I'm still working on learning how to use the software itself, but thus far this microphone has been a great addition to the product's usability. Since my experience was so different from the other users, I even tried to dictate in a CalTrain station while a train was on the track across from mine: same results with great accuracy. These military grade noise-cancelling claims aren't exaggerated. I truly think the other users were using a different product or using it incorrectly, which is why I'm taking the time to write this review. My only knocks on the headset are that it starts to wear on my ear after an hour's session with a client. There are different ear pieces that might address this, but the one that fits best to prevent the headset--and feels fine for about 30 minutes--starts to hurt after an hour's session with a client. I haven't tried to use the headset on lengthy drives where I can't charge it, so I can't really speak to its battery life as a limiter on types of use. I have a couple of client sessions a day at most, dictate maybe an hour, and rarely use it with my iPhone. For those purposes, the charge is more than adequate; my only complaint is that it takes a full two hours to charge from a proprietary USB cable. Annoying, but not a deal breaker. The headset looks just fine, as long as you're OK with the extended microphone. That design is crucial for the voice recognition software, though, and helps get the absolute best sound quality for recording. I'm fine with the slight trade-off in look for significantly better quality, and I've seen people walking on the street with far worse headsets on. Overall, the product is amazing for ~$50. Great buy, and for my use pattern, means I can return the corded headset I got as a safeguard.

Noise cancellation is second to none. In very unscientific testing while driving on the freeway, the Andrea BT-200 blew away every other headset tested. I am familiar with the company's technology in audio electronics and that's what prompted me to try them out. I am glad that I did.
It is one of the most comfortable headsets around while still staying secure and not giving that "wobble" feeling. The added USB Bluetooth adapter works under Win 7 without any additional drivers or software needed. This addition makes the BT-200 an exceptional value.

Software desactualizado,

I almost didn't buy this because of the negative reviews and the low price, but I took a chance since I'm pairing it with a cell phone instead of dictation software. I love this ear piece, best one I've ever had. I freelance and I use my cell phone for business all day long. On conference calls, in the car, at Starbucks, etc. I need a high quality ear piece and none of the little ones that sit back by your ear have provided enough voice legibility (one person told me I sounded like Charlie Brown's school teacher when using my Jawbone). I've tried $200 ear pieces, from Jawbone, to Motorola, to Plantronics, but I could never get voice legibility and comfort in one piece. So while I look like a dork with the boom mic, my clients can hear me perfectly and to boot, it's extremely comfortable to wear. I barely notice it and it's lighter than even many of the small retail ear pieces. It also just sort of fits my inner ear better. Pairing it was kinda quirky though, it took several attempts and it can only be paired by turning it on, not once it's already on. I hope they make this for years to come, so that I can buy it again if I lose it or it gets damaged.
Finally, the perfect ear piece.

I purchased this product to use with my Dragon Naturally Speaking program. The product is listed on the Dragon Website as a recommended wireless microphone. However, I have been very disappointed in the sound quality of the system. There is so much background hiss and noise when you playback, I can barely understand myself, no wonder the Dragon system works so poorly. Any soft sounds like "s", "th","v" NEVER get picked up properly. I am very disappointed and will probably have to go back to a "wired up" system.

MOVE OVER JAWBONE!,

Bluetooth Noise Cancelling Mon
Ok let me first give you my creditials. I am a techno geek minus the geek. I have had Jawbone Noise Cancelling Headsets for a while. I also tried Plantronics and that new one from Sound ID I have tried most of them in some form or fashion. I work as a Mechanic for the **** sorry government agency. I have to vacuum the machines out and do intense maintenance. Well the industrial vaccums are so loud I had to buy these noise cancelling stereo bluetooth headsetsNokia BH-905 High-Performance Bluetooth Stereo Headphones. PS THESE ARE VERY VERY CLOSE TO BOSE. OK back to this headset. I get calls all the time but I still have a schedule to maintain. These are the ONLY noise cancelling headset that works as advertised. Sometime it works too good. and only $40 BUCKS!!!! WHOOOHOOOO!!!! So don't waste your money on Jawbone if you want REAL noise cancelling. CONS: Sometimes the noise cancelling will edit your voice but 90% say the still hear me clearly when it kicks back in which takes 1-2 seconds no biggie. PRO: It is EXCELLENT for EXTREMELY loud places. Like NASCAR and the like. THESE ARE TRUE MILITARY GRADE NOISE CANCELLING! JAWBONE NOT SO MUCH! PLANTRONICS....FORGET ABOUT IT! SOUND ID.....OK I'M STILL LAUGHING.....I RETURNED THEM THE SAME DAY! ALL THE COMPETION WANT $80-$130 BUCKS AND DON'T EVEN PRODUCE! YEAH THE LOOK BETTER THEN THIS ONE BUT HEY LOOKS ARE DECIEVING!

Picks up a lot of background noise. Often disconnects for no reason. Receiving sound is very poor. Mic comes out really far. I needed this for skype, but it is now apart of my junk drawer. Very displeased.

This headset is easy to set up and use, and is comfortable enough and looks okay enough, but it has the --WORST SOUND QUALITY I HAVE EVER HEARD--, and I have gone through MANY headsets in my time (*avid gamer*). It sounds like everything is a mile away and trying to speak through a thick fog. I can't even understand spoken words.
Take my advice: If you're going to spend some money on a bluetooth headset, add another $20 to your allowance and get something with a little steeper price tag - and possibly a recognizable name.

I purchased this for use with the dragon dictate software for the mac in order to write papers, give command etc. i figure this would be a great solution to the built in microphone and better than the apple headphones. boy was i wrong. in fact just going with the built in microphone yielded the best results. there was a constant static hiss that disrupted the voice recognition severely. i ever unpaired and repaired it. paired it with another computer and even my iphone and got the same results. poor, poor sound quality. on the site they claim to have, by far, the best sound quality, making this perfect for speech recognition. don't believe the lies. listen to the reviewers on amazon. i read the negative reviews and ignored them because the site was so convincing. never again
