4.0 out of 5 stars THE DICEMAN RETURNS, September 29, 2000
By

Like a fine bottle of wine Andrew "Dice" Clay has gotten better with time. In this video-the companion to his newest release "Face Down" Dice mixes in his personna of old with a new polished act that will disappoint no one. Taped in the "Elvis" room of the Las Vegas Hilton Dice opens with a new set of nursery rhymes and then shows he is an equal oppurtunity offender as he discusses everything from interracal dating to the female anantomy. He is very relaxed after an extended abscence from infront of the Tv cameras in a live comedy setting and the audience is certainly warm and receptive to Dice. If you are a Dice fan your collection will not be complete with out this fine concert performance. It's running time is roughly 1hr but it is an hour worthy of your time.

2.0 out of 5 stars Oh, how the mighty have fallen..., June 17, 2001
This review is from: Andrew Dice Clay: I'm Over Here Now (DVD)
There was a time that the diceman was a cutting edge comedian. The Diceman was good for shock value, often stepping over the line, but within a realm of cleverness and entertainment. If THIS dvd is any indictation, then that time is over. A fair amount of the material was recycled from a long time ago. All of his material appeared to be laboriously dwelled upon. (His put-down of midgets for example absorbed a large part of the dvd). Worse, the Diceman appeared to be bitter, even angry, and he seemed to lose the capacity to have fun with his material. Once; a master at audience participation, the Diceman has degraded to losing all focus, and ruthlessly insulting his guests. A good example is when a woman gets into the spirit of things and takes off her top, and then the Diceman engages her in his usual smut-conversation and then gets angry that she is getting more attention than he is, so he ruthlessly tells her that this is his time, and yells at her... not funny... to anyone. Too, At first I thought the sound was off in this dvd. I thought that the Diceman's mic was so powerful that you couldn't hear the applause or laughter by the audience. Then later on, I realized there was very little laughter to be had, but there was an abundance of boos... If you enjoy the Diceman of old, then this dvd will only make you sad. If you have never seen the Diceman before, then this dvd will have you wonder why anyone would even produce and sell such a product. Save your time and money, and forget about this one. If you don't...and you end up buying it.... well, don't say that you weren't warned....OHHHHHHHHHH!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not that Good, January 19, 2002

I really liked The Adventures of Ford Fairlane, but this wasn't that good.

Consider just this one joke: Big fat wives are the best kind, and their husbands don't treat them right. If a man goes out to play golf when he could be doing his big fat wife, then his big fat wife should be doing every one of his friends. That was about the funniest thing he said.

It was Dice - but it wasn't. Don't get me wrong, it was as dirty and disgusting as ever, but politically correct jokes aren't funny.

Remeber how he used to be public enemy number one according to the National Organization for Women? It was as if he had lost a legal battle and had to start doing 100% politically correct acts if he ever wanted to perform again. He did in fact seem really tired and beaten down in both the performance and some footage before the performance.

He seemed to be saying that he could become politically correct and still be funny. I'm assuming that's what he meant when he explained that he is "over here now", and when he said that he was able to move over here because he is a professional.
