NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Dove Award-nominated singer/songwriter Andrew Greer returns with the second offering in his acclaimed Angel Band series, Angel Band: The Christmas Sessions (MA'M Recordings), once again highlighted by collaborations with some of the top names in Americana and Gospel music.

Iconic GRAMMY® and Dove Award-winning recording artist Sandi Patty joins Greer for a tender rendition of the renowned classic “Ave Maria,” while the legendary McCrary Sisters lend unmistakable harmonies to the Gospel-influenced “The Little Drummer Boy.” Greer also teams with multi-Dove Award-winning singer/songwriter Cindy Morgan on “A Cradle in Bethlehem” and acclaimed Americana singer/songwriters Phil Madeira and Emily Deloach for a live studio recording of “The First Noel.”

Produced by Chris Kimmerer, along with Greer and Johnson Roberts, Angel Band: The Christmas Sessions features three original standouts penned or co-penned by Greer: “The Beginning of Love”; “My Troubles," which incorporates lyrical themes from “Joy To The World”; and the worshipful “My Soul Sings,” a modern interpretation of The Magnificat, along with new folk/acoustic-inspired arrangements of eight traditional selections.

"Christmas is surrounded by this mysterious darkness, a recognition of the great lengths necessary for mankind—for me—to be redeemed,” says Greer. “I love how much of the season's musical repertoire reflects the Hope of a Redeemer through such haunting melodies and sacred verse. So for The Christmas Sessions, I wanted to compile my favorite seasonal songs, old and original, that remind me and communicate to others the everlasting good news: Christ, the Savior is born."

Greer is a 2013 GMA Dove Award nominee for Instrumental Album of the Year for All Things Bright & Beautiful: Hymns for the Seasons (Lucid Artist), a collection he performed, produced and arranged. The project held the #1 spot on Nielsen Christian SoundScan’s Instrumental chart for 25 weeks to date.

An acclaimed singer/songwriter and respected music journalist, Greer created the innovative “Hymns for Hunger Tour," along with singer/songwriter Cindy Morgan, which raises awareness and resources for local and international hunger relief organizations at tour stops around the country, along with special performances at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Samaritan's Purse and Amy Grant's "Tennessee Weekend" benefit.

His sophomore recording, 2012’s critically-praised Angel Band: The Hymn Sessions, reached #2 on Amazon's Hot New Releases in Contemporary Folk chart and showcases collaborations with some of the top names in bluegrass, Gospel and Christian music, including Sonya Isaacs, Ginny Owens, The McCrary Sisters and Ron Block (Alison Krauss & Union Station) - and garnered Andrew significant media coverage in CCM Magazine, The Tennessean, Christianity Today, and Worship Leader, as well as TV appearances on FOX 4's Good Day Dallas, Live at Studio B and The Harvest Show.

As a writer, Andrew’s stories have appeared in Christianity Today, Parenting Teens and ParentLife, among other notable publications. When not on the road, Andrew enjoys his home in Franklin, TN. Angel Band: The Christmas Sessions is a MA’M Recordings release. For further information, visit www.andrew-greer.com or www.mam-recordings.com.
