Book Description

Andrew Luck is about as regular a guy as you’ll ever meet. So how did the Stanford quarterback end up as the projected No. 1 pick in the 2012 NFL draft — the most polished college QB since Peyton Manning? This biography by award-winning journalist Jon Wilner is based on firsthand observation and interviews. It chronicles the path Luck took to the doorstep of NFL stardom: his childhood in Europe; the influence of his father, himself a former NFL quarterback; his nerdy, attention-averse personality; the astonishing success at Stanford; and the momentous decision to turn down millions of dollars from the NFL to spend one last season on the idyllic Stanford campus. Wilner, a reporter for the San Jose Mercury News who has covered Luck since his arrival at Stanford in 2008, also explores the extraordinary cognitive abilities that allowed this 22-year-old to call his own plays — something many NFL quarterbacks don’t do — and show NFL scouts that he’s a once-in-a-generation player.

1.0 out of 5 stars A sadly disappointing ebook October 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Just finished reading both Mr. Wilner's and Mr. Tims and I unfortunately have to say that Mr. Wilner's book was highly disappointing in terms of content and readability. Luckily the book was cheap but I would like to have back those 2 hours of my life. Lastly, I have to say that the people reviewing this book must be close friends of Mr. Wilner because I just don't see how anyone can rate this a 5 stars ebook.

1.0 out of 5 stars Got it on sale @ $0.99, and still wasn't worth it October 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
A very quick read, and probably explained the discounted price. Probably get more enjoyment from reading the classifieds of a newspaper, than this short "book" allowed. Too bad. At anything more than $0.29, the value isn't there.

1.0 out of 5 stars this book sucks October 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This was the worst sports book I have ever read. Does this writer even know about sports. In my opinion he should try his hand at something other than writing about sports. Simply Clueless writer!

It's obvious the author is infatuated with the hype surrounding Luck, and this is essentially a lame attempt at a flattering "puff piece. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the time
Nothing of interest in this "book", can do better just googling it. No real style in writing and just regurgitates what fans already know - a definite waste of money and time.

Terrible read. Andrew should have picked a better writer. Wilner writes books the same way he votes in polls. Aboslutely clueless! GO RUTGERS!!!

Mr. Wilner, what you've written is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent "book" were you even close to anything that... Read more

I'm pretty sure there is public proof this author doesn't know anything about college football. See Voting, College Football Polls.
