I own both volumes and Ihave to give both five stars. after all the time that has passed the songs are just as fresh to hear as when they were recorded.even my 12 year old daughter loves them.If you love swing music you must add this volume to your collection.

ANDREWS SISTERS NEED A DECENT BOX SET,
By Micaloneus (the Cosmos) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Andrews Sisters: 50th Anniversary Collection, Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
This is a great collection of some of the Andrews Sisters best material, with most of the tracks being simply magical. Most likely you're already aware of volume one in this series, and it was worth picking up. Both volumes have really good sound quality and beautiful booklets. By the way, there's also a really good collection called "Selection of Andrews Sisters" which gives you a bunch of great tunes that aren't on these two volumes.
PS: THE ANDREWS SISTERS NEED A DECENT BOX SET!!!

I wrote the liner notes for this album, and I still stand by my words today. The Andrews Sisters really show their unique versatlity in this collection. The CD ranges from one of their very first recordings "Nice Work If You Can Get It" to "Fugue for Tin Horns" one of the only songs in which Maxene and LaVerne each have a solo. Patty's solos as always sound amazing. She is perhaps the best female vocalist of the 20th century. It has been an honor and a privilage to know and work on this album with these talented sisters.
