Hi Pat - this might not answer your question but all I have to say is BUYER BEWARE and not a good product if your grandson already knows how to play on a smartphone or iphone!! I have 2.5 year old twins who are addicted to our smartphones and I bought these tablets as birthday gifts hoping they spend less times on our phones but just the opposite happened. These tablets are cheaply made and have no battery life. We could not even get our twins favorite apps loaded to these tablets. Fully charged these tablets only lasted 20 minutes and after two weeks it was 10 minutes. I cannot even tell you how disgusted I am with these products and here is the catch if you buy them now before Christmas there is only a thirty day warranty. I learned that the hard way as i bought these well in advance of their birthdays and now seller and Amazon will not respond to our compliants and will not honor any type of refund or exchange. In addition these tablets are not kid proof as advertised. After three weeks my son dropped one of the tablets from the kitchen table and the screen has multiple cracks. I may not get any response from seller or Amazon but I would feel a sense of satsifaction if I can save one customer from this nightmare we went through.
The battery wasn't too bad. But I haven't had a chance to use it much either so as far as I know it's decent. But I am having issues with it freezing. I'm trying to return mine now and get a new one since I haven't used it but a very few times.
Bought it for my two year old grandson. He loved it, used it knowledgebly...but it has Wi-Fi and. he ended up emailing China lol and then frustrated one day threw it on the floor and broke it. So while smart enough obviously not mature enough. Hope that helps
