Book Description

December 11, 2007
The machine race known only as the Enemy has swiftly taken over the Cosmoralian Empire, but Queen Lilia and her son, Prince Jimsa, manage to flee. The only place to escape to, however, is the desert wasteland where the elements, predatory beasts, and bandits pose almost as great a threat to survival as the machine invaders. Prince Jimsa, growing ever stronger in the face of adversity, prepares to inherit his mantle as the Sun King, the descendant of the combined Murat, Ayodoya, and Cosmoralian legacies. It will fall upon his shoulders to turn the machines away before its too late.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Takemiya is one of Japan’s revered 49ers for a reason. She knows how to tell a story with her art, bringing out the subtlest of emotions and dramatic moments. From the opening pages when the winged goddess is brooding over the Cosmic Egg with sword-bearing angels in attendance, you know you’re looking at something special."- Manga Life
"Intended for young adult readers, this is a satisfying, classic story with stylish old-fashioned artwork. Takemiya's art flows well and is full of colorful details: the weird landscapes look like 1970s fantasy illustration or rock album covers, the costumes are sumptuous, and the silent mechanical invaders are mysterious and chilling." - Otaku USA

“I fell in love with the clockwork body snatchers and space opera storytelling she employs.” - Same Hat Blog
“There’s scarcely another title out there, new or old, that shoots this high and this far with its vision, so pick this up.” - Anime Advanced Media Network “Any first volume is hard to judge, but based on the potential of the story, the historical place of the creator, and Vertical’s excellent publishing record for manga, this volume is recommended for all manga collections.” - Library Journal

"May be the best manga I've read all year. A+," - Comics-and-more.blogspot.com

3.0 out of 5 stars my humble opinnion, December 11, 2007
This review is from: Andromeda Stories, Volume 2 (v. 2) (Paperback)
Okay. so Now the story jumps ahead in time and Jimsa ages to about 13 or 14? He loves his mommy okay? He loves his mommy a lot and if you got any problems with that, he's not going to cooperate. Basically the story catches up where it briefly touched base on in the first volume and they show you how he gets to living in the desert. The werid old guy with the crazy white hair regularly contacts him and they trade things. However, weird old crazy hair guy wants to get Jimsa to come over to his side but Jimsa only trusts his mommy. Until his momma gets attacked and the old crazy hair guy helps save him. Then back at old crazy hair guy's head quarters he tries to get Jimsa to join the cause. Mommy encourages this and so Jimsa and Old crazy hair guy go about on a journey to meet the other people on their side. However the other bases get attacked and so for fear of his momma's safety they return to find their base attacked. but momma is okay. There's a very interesting scene where Jimsa kisses his mom goodbye on the lips....it was unsettling a little. but maybe somethings wrong in my head. Also the other prince is shown , leading a very different life from his bro.

The volume ends with Jimsa, his mom, and a handy dandy android he meets a long the way going back to his home kingdom, now completely taken over by robots and they meet his Father and Uncle...well....kind of.

Um......i really dont' like this manga. it was hard to follow and the plot is just SO OUT THERE. it moves too quickly i can't see a satisfactory ending in the next and final volume.
Miss Takemiya should write her own stories. she does a fine job on her own.
However i will be getting volume 3 because i want to see what happens because it would be nice to know what the eff is going on. Enjoy!
