5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the time and money
Somehow the authors have taken the very serious subjects near and dear to the heart of any anesthesia provider and made them dead-on funny -- but truly helpful and informative. I can't you how many times I've been saved by their tips and hints. This is a MUST HAVE reference for the anesthesia student.

3.0 out of 5 stars Unplugged!
Dr. Gallagher's books are very nice and entertainig.. Makes learning sort of fun and enjoyable.. You'll find a nice new tip or two for each procedure.. But bottom line for learning those is Practice, Practice, and more Practice! You can't perfect your swan-ganz by learning it of a book! And you have to do it over and over again! That'll save you up this book's money...

5.0 out of 5 stars Dummies guide to anesthesia, November 26, 2008

Perfect for those interested in expanding their prior knowledge of the field. The pictures walk you through step-by-step and the humor keeps the boredom from setting in. Great book!

LOVE this book. It has practical information and tidbits with clearly defined illustrations. Very humerous as it brings it down to earth and does not create the "usual" anesthesia textbook. I recommend it especially to students and anesthesia providers to have as a reference.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best anesthesia book ever!, June 23, 2011

I am currently still a lowly student of anesthesia and am subjected to reading thousands of pages of books with no color, pictures, or fun stories. Although this is to be expected, Anesthesia Unplugged makes reading fun again!

Really, this book is awesome for any anesthesia resident or SRNA, especially in the beginning. It dishes out a plethora of practical advice and makes me laugh out loud every time I read it. I look forward to reading again! Seriously though,
TOTALLY WORTH GETTING!!

I bought this book during my first semester of nurse anesthesia, and put it on the shelf thinking I would probably only use it when I get to clinicals this summer. I was wrong.

This book has helped me in lab classes, where I've had minimal, vague, fast demonstration and instruction on how to insert central lines. I was even able to discuss things that had not been brought up in class, and people thought the info was valuable.

Worth every penny. Very different than all the other stuff on my shelf, and therefore, it fills a gap the other books leave.

3.0 out of 5 stars expensive wrong book, April 28, 2011

There was no preview of this book and I won't buy another without a viewing the contents. I did not want a procedure book but more information on drugs, adverse reactions and combination of drugs. Like what to use when patient has a high tolerance to narcotics. What's the best way to treat a renal patient with hypotension. It is still an excellent book but not the one I wanted.

This book is not too bad. However, it is written in an unseemly way. Its English is hard for people that do not have it as their natural language.
