Editorial Reviews

"The second installment of Eden's action-packed, dark paranormal series the Fallen centers on a deposed angel of death and his half-breed succubus flame...Eden offers compelling characters, sizzling sex, and breakneck action in this solid effort that sets the stage for the third book, due November 2012. (July)" --Publishers Weekly

From the Back Cover

Sammael--call him Sam--was an angel once. An angel of death. But the dispassionate, watch-from-above thing just wasn't working for him when it meant watching evil torture innocent souls day in and day out. It might have cost him his wings, but these days he gets to apply the direct method on the bad guys. Problem is, what's making his life difficult is a bad girl...

Seline O'Shaw needs protection, and with the hounds of hell on her tail, she's not going to quibble too hard about where she gets it. Sam's virtue is questionable, but he's smoking hot, massively powerful, and owes her a favor. So what if she's getting a little case of angel lust? There are some damn deadly sins after her hide...

Angel Betrayed is the second in The Fallen series by Cynthia Eden. The Fallen series is about angels that fall because they develop human feelings and end up breaking their laws. Sammael the Death Angel chose to take the souls of some men that hurt women and children. He then fell from heaven and has lived on the earth for centuries.

In Angel of Darkness (the first in the Fallen Series) we meet Selina O'Shaw and we get a glimpse of how Sam feels about her. In this book, Selina approaches Sam to return a favor. That is the start of their adventure and romance.

As a fan of Ms. Eden's book I have to say that Angel Betrayed is one of her best! I love the depth that she gives her characters and the exciting plot made this a book I didn't want to put down! I totally recommend that you read Angel of Darkness before you read Angel Betrayed. I think it will give you the background you need so you too can fall in love with this book.

Angel Betrayed
Reviewed by Angela & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog

I have fallen deeper in love with the Angels in Ms. Eden's books. This second installment in The Fallen series is even better then the first. It has everything I expected and wanted.

The story continues with the battle between good and evil. Unfortunately, the Angels who are in charge to know the difference are not allowed to their own opinion. Some will bend or go against the rules and become a Fallen.

Sammael has been a fallen Angel for Centuries. He is feared by demons, humans and disliked by his ex-angel buddies. Rightly so as Sam had become rogue and committed the ultimate sin, kill. If remember Angel Betrayed (book 1), Sam had a big part in that story helping Keenan and Nicole get their HEA. And now, it's his turn to finally get what he deserves. We also meet Seline O'shaw in Angel Betrayed. Not a big part but she made her presence known. She was the demon dancer that Sam was fascinated with. She had given him some information and now demands a boon in return. In this book, she definitely gets the favor she wanted.

I was engrossed from the beginning until the end. The plot not only included a good romance but it was suspenseful and action packed. I loved Sam and Seline's story and I feel like the truly belonged together. Both lost and lonely, they finally found someone they can trust. And this surprised me but Seline actually turned out to be a kick ass heroine. She was sort of needy in the beginning but was able to redeem herself in a grand way. And Sam, well, let's just say Ms. Eden knows how to deliver a true Alpha to drool over.

Well done, Ms. Eden, this series had definitely turned out to be a favorite of mine and will be watching for each release date.

This book was much, much better than the first book Angel of Darkness. Sam and Seline had hot chemistry and both worked hard to develop the bond and trust they needed to eventually truly be together. It was nice to see Sam be true to his character from the first book, but yet grow and learn from his mistakes because of his love for Seline. Seline is such a sweetheart and sadly suffers because her life has been dictated and ruled by a nut job. She has a strong mind and eventually ends up being a kick-butt character. Great in the romance and action department! Definitely recommend...

When the angel Sam became passionate and took matters into his own hands, he fell. Now a fallen death angel, he has been living on year for centuries. Although long fallen, Sam is still at odds with his angel brother, Az, who doesn't agree with Sam's methods.

Seline needs protection since her dubious parentage has put her in a difficult spot. So, she finds the biggest, baddest person (or fallen angel) around: Sam. But, Seline is not necessarily upfront with Sam. When he finds out, there will be hell to pay.

I immediately fell for both Sam and Seline. Both of these characters are extremely broken and have a hard time trusting anyone. I adored watching their interactions, learning each other, and having a difficult time growing into a relationship. Most interesting was not how the characters overcame their own fears of a relationship, but how both characters grew to understand their own self better.

The story has just the right amount going on. The characters have their own issues to overcome; yet there are outside pressures, like avenging brothers and angels, which add necessary and welcome interest. I loved this story, even though it was rather streamlined and straightforward. Honestly, I like to see where a story is heading and not be surprised all the time.

The secondary characters where fantastic, especially Tomas. I'm dying to hear his story. Although Sam and Seline have some issues, Tomas' story will be very interesting. I can't wait!

Angel Betrayed is much better than the first book in the series where the world is established and the plot moved much more smoothly. Plus, I always have a soft spot for broken characters and this book has an abundance of characters that need saved.
