This review is from: Angel in a Bubble (Paperback)
From `Once upon a time' to `happily ever after', Angel In A Bubble by Melisa Eyuboglu is a children's tale with a special twist--it's written and illustrated by a nine-year-old, and as such, provides a point of view that's distinctively child-like.The story itself is a quest, a journey of imagination and discovery, with kindness and compassion as its motivation (the protagonist, Alison, tries to help her angel regain her true form). As for the execution of the storyline, it is child-like in its simplicity and yet nothing short of delightful, with the many vivid and colourful illustrations adding immeasurably to the story-telling. In particular, I felt that the climax (both text and illustration) was very striking: The light blinded them for a second. They couldn't even see God. He was pure light. It felt like millions of rainbows. Angel In A Bubble is a little gem of a book that will appeal to young readers (5-9 years old), and even younger ones (3-5 years old) will enjoy having this read to them by their parents. Everyone, both children and grown-ups, will adore the illustrations, as I do. Thumbs up.

beautiful book for kids,

Reviewed by Brianne Plach for Reader Views (11/07)Alison has made a very special friend. She has gotten the chance to meet her own personal angel. Her dog Amigo has also gotten to meet his. Alison's mother doesn't believe that Alison has ever met her angel, until she meets her herself. Her angel has a problem and only Alison can fix it. She must meet the creator of the angel and request something very special. Her angel is in a bubble and there is only one way to correct that. She, Amigo and two other friends travel up a high mountain to get closer to God. They also have to climb upon a rainbow. With "Angel In a Bubble," Melisa Eyuboglu has written and illustrated a beautiful book for kids. This book makes children use their imagination and wonder what they would ask God for if they ever got to meet him face to face. The illustrations are pencil-like drawings with watercolors. Without the fancy drawings in some books, these will have children really understand the story. I hope Melisa writes more books about the adventures of her and Amigo. Book received free of charge.

How refreshing to read a story filled with encouragement and determination to reach a goal. More than that, Angel in a Bubble was written and illustrated by talented nine-year old Melisa Eyuboglu. In Angel in a Bubble we meet young Allison and her dog Amigo. One fine sunny day Allison meets two angels and her quest to help one of them begins. They set a path to ask God to help one of the angels who was transformed into a bubble after a mishap with water. Along the way they meet Muffin the mouse and Snuggles the deer who tag along. A delightful and spiritually encouraging story filled with illustrations drawn by the young author. At such a young age, Melisa shows great promise as a writer. I highly recommend this 28 page book to one and all, regardless of age, to enjoy and reflect on Melisa's message to open our hearts and help a person in need. I'd also like to acknowledge and extend kudos to Guardian Angels Publishing for allowing our young muses an avenue to express themselves through writing.

Would you go on a quest for someone you'd just met? What if that someone was an angel? In Melisa Eyuboglu's debut book, "Angel in a Bubble," one little girl sets out to change God's rules.Meeting her own angel is a surprise for Alison. Meeting her dog's angel is a shock too. Alison's angel accidentally fell into the ocean and was transformed into a bubble as the rules state she must. She wants to be an angel again and asks Alison for help. Together they all set out to the biggest hilltop where a rainbow becomes the path to God. Will Alison convince Him to change his rule? Will her angel be an angel once more? This delightful book is written and illustrated by nine year old Melisa Eyuboglu. She uses colorful text and drawings to capture the young reader's imagination. Her story is sweet but also one that demonstrates a willingness to help others. Alison sets out on a quest after getting her mother's permission, and makes an effort to change what she sees as an unjust rule. This young author shows promise in her descriptive text but also in her ability to portray compassionate characters. If she puts her mind to the quest of becoming a great author, as Alison did to helping her new friend, we'll be sure to see more from this young lady in the future. |
