An excellent novelization by Nancy Holder!, July 20, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Angel Chronicles, Volume 1 (Mass Market Paperback)
After reading the cover, "A novelization..." I knew not to expect anything wholly original from this book. If you're a regular viewer of the television series and you've seen "Angel," "Reptile Boy," and "Lie To Me," you can probably go through this entire book without finding anything new. If you're an exceptional "Buffy" fan and read carefully, you'll find that Holder did a wonderful job of going through the episodes and patched up a few holes the episodes themselves had. I didn't find this book too boring at all. Although I've seen all the episodes covered in the book, Holder added some great content to supplement ideas, thoughts, and feelings the episodes was unable to express. Of course, there are a few discrepancies with current Buffylore, but I think that Holder wrote this before the end of the second season and was thus unable to cover a few mistakes. All in all, this book was a very satisfying read, not tot! ally original, but with some nicely added notes by Nancy Holder.

Love it, love it, love it!, February 22, 2000

This review is from: The Angel Chronicles, Volume 1 (Mass Market Paperback)
I absolutely love this book! I'm a HUGE Buffy fan and I have read most of Buffy novels, and I've gotta say, this one is the best. My most favorite one. I've read it before I saw Season 2 (about a year ago) and I was happy to know that Angel and Buffy were together. I find myself grinning like an idiot or making silly squeaky sound whenever I read this book coz the 2 are just adorable. I just couldn't put it down! It was the first book I've ever read in one day and I've read it over and over again. It's a must if you consider yourself a Buffy fan, if you're not, I still highly recommend it, you'll love it.

Its A Book with Angel in it! What more can I say, June 29, 1998

Ok. I may start to sound obsessed. If I do, that would be because I am. I read the book. Its really cool if your someone like me who likes to watch episodes of Buffy over and over. etc. I happen to tape the eps and watch them every single free minute I have. I enjoyed reading the book because of how it describes things you can only see on TV. David Boreanaz is the best. (you think i'm obsessed now...see my room)I do agree with whoever said that a book should be written about the guy thats not script. Nancy did a great job. She didnt leave out anything. I happen to know ALL the episode quotes by hart..especially "Angel" and she had it out word for word. I hope she will continue to write more books like that. I would definetly recomend it.

It was NOT a great book., November 23, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Angel Chronicles, Volume 1 (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was alright, and the pictures were great, but come on, $ for a book that you can just watch on TV. And the 3 episode retelling wasn't even that good. There weren't a lot of details in the book. But if you haven't watched the episodes, you should definitely read this book.

Interesting, July 31, 1998

This was a good book, but some stories didn't really have to do with Angel, but just with Buffy. Its great if you didn't catch a line in an episode, everythings there, including the characters thoughts.

Nothing new, June 25, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Angel Chronicles, Volume 1 (Mass Market Paperback)
When I first heard about The Angel Chronicles, I was excited! At last! One of the Buffy books would be including Angel. Maybe we'd finally get some insight into the guy! Instead, we just get a repeat of three episodes! There was nothing wrong with the writing. I thought that Nancy Holder did a great job descriping the episodes, but I was really hoping for something different - like maybe the stories being told from Angel's point of view.

It was mildly ok, but it was just like the eposodes., June 23, 1998

It could have been better. All they did was spit out the lines from the show. If you have seen the show the book gets boring. Who wants to read something that they already know. The reason I gave this book three stars was because it is the only book so far that has Angel in it. I'm definatly an Angel fan. The book had no insight into what the charecters were thinking when they said the lines, which was very dissapointing. I had expected feeling. I would much rather read a book that contains new Angel information or missing parts between each eposode.
