Editorial Reviews

Review

"This first installment of a planned series has a definite but not unpleasant screenplay style. The story zips right along: straightforward with more action than introspection, explanation over exploration, and just enough rationalizing by Danny to explain away any doubt we might have about his decisions." - Kirkus Reviews

Angel Dance

Stuart Woods WAS one of my favorite authors, with the ability to put an unexpected twist to the story, but look out, first time novelist MD Grayson has written a smart and colorful page turner. I never thought I would enjoy a wild ride through drug cartels and crime families, but a weekend read, turned into a book I could not put down. If you are a fan of mystery and a great story, Angel Dance with an unpretentious PI with a deadpan sense of humor named Danny Logan with his team of associates, especially Antoinette "Toni" Blair, show substance and style. Thank you to the author for writing a story with smart women - bring us more!!!! But, I don't want to see Toni with Danny (just yet....) she is way WAY smarter than that.... Can't wait for the next book!

Angel Dance began with an exciting investigation, and it only got better from there. The book introduces Danny Logan, a former military man turned entrepreneur. An old school friend contacts Danny, who now owns and operates his own PI firm, about the disappearance of his sister, Gina Fiore. I was immediately intrigued. Danny dated Gina briefly, and the way he tells it he may still be carrying a torch for her. Now she's gone, and no one knows why.

Danny and his partner Toni are on the case. Toni is an assertive female (Danny seems to like that type) who totes a gun and wears black leather. Together, the two try to walk backward through Gina's life. Someone has to know something...right? The first part of the book feels like a true procedural mystery. But as a shady group of drug dealers and connections to organized crime are introduced, the book suddenly becomes a thrilling suspense story. The twists and turns at the end of the book came quickly, and caught me totally off guard. I loved every minute of it.

I loved every minute of this entire book, in fact. It's beautifully formatted, and I couldn't find any editing mistakes whatsoever. It's a mystery, but it's full of action and has heart, too. Danny Logan is a very likable main character, and I'll definitely be following the rest of his adventures.

This author sure knows how to throw a curveball. The story was fast paced and well thought out. The ending does not disappoint and sets up well for the second book. I'll be waiting to see where Danny and Toni end up. Grayson paints a vivid picture of Seattle...makes me miss my family up there!

I liked all the characters up to a point. Just when I was comfortable with them, another facet of their personality shows up that I did not like so much. It took half the book to get interesting. Also, when I thought the story had ended as it could have the author goes on to tie up every unnecessary end imaginable.

I would read another Danny Logan, but only after my favorites.

A compeling mystery that takes you into the day-to-day life of a private investigator and his team to solve the disappearance of an old love interest. You can experience what each member of the PI's staff does to help solve the mystery. Well written and nicely detailed.

Angel Dance I just finished reading Angel Dance and found a true gem waiting to be discovered. In M.D. Grayson's debut performance, we are introduced to Danny Logan, a private investigator with past experience that includes a stint in the US Army Criminal Investigation Command. He uses his discipline, respect and logical thinking to run a private investigation agency in Seattle, WA. When Gina Fiore, an old flame goes missing, Danny's firm is hired to find her. He and his tough, but compassionate female partner,Toni Blair, along with the rest of the Logan Investigation Agency join with the Seattle Police Department on a chase that involves drugs, organized crime, mexican cartels and the DEA. M.D. Grayson has well-developed characters and intriguing sub-plots. The story is well thought out and captivates the reader as it gains speed toward a delightful ending that is sure to please. Filled with intrigue, suspense, plot twists and an unexpected conclusion, Angel Dance is a well-deserved read. I'll be looking forward to future Danny Logan novels. To M.D. Grayson - make sure I'm on your mailing list.

The writer kept me reading right to the end. Good story, a little bad language , but no sex. I enjoyed it very much.
