This review is from: Angel- Darla (Reunion) Action Figure (Toy)
This figure of Darla fully vamped out represents the character from the second season "Angel" episode, "Reunion." That was the episode where Drusilla turned Darla back into a vampire again. This might sound like a bad thing but is arguably preferable to dying from syphilis, which is what Darla was doing in 1609 in the Virginia Colony when the Master originally made her a vampire. This 6" action figures has nine points of articulation and is dressed in black blouse, brown pants, and black high heeled shoes. This Darla comes with a sledgehammer, cross, dagger, bottle of blood, and purse, as well as a grass base that comes with a broken wall and a bit of fencing. Note: the fencing does not really fit into any slots like the wall does, but there is a small rock protruding from the left part of the wall and you can slot the bottom of the fence over that rock to secure it (the far left or far right positions work best).
Played by Julie Benz, the character of Darla was a minor character during that first season of "BtVS," but then at the end of the first season of "Angel" we discovered that Wolfram & Hart had brought her back--as a human. Darla was seen as a key to Angel since she was the one who sired him in Galway back in 1753. For over a century they were the cruelest vampires around and then Angel sired Drusilla, who in turn turned Spike. But then in 1898 Angel killed that Gypsy girl, was cursed by her family, and has his soul restored, which only repulsed Darla. In Season 3 of "Angel" she would find out what it was like to have a soul when she carried Angel's son Connor. The performance by Benz that season and the unforgettable birth of Connor, are highpoints in the history of the series and the "BtVS" universe (even people who had never seen the show were impressed by the story of Connor's birth). There is also a Season 2 "Angel" action figure of Darla, quite similar to this one but without her being in vamp face, and a "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" version of Darla which is based on her from Season 1 of that Joss Whedon series (specifically this latter is the "Welcome to the Hellmouth" Drala figure, which explains the bad school girl outfit, but the twin automatic pistols did not show up until her last episode on the series, "Angel," not to be confused with the television series of the same name). That last one if probably the best of this particular bunch. There are plenty of Spike figures, a couple of Angel figures, and even one of Drusilla that you can mix and match in your display area to your heart's content.
