One of FNM's finest efforts,

First off, about the four stars vs five - The album as it is, is a five star album, I just wish they would have included the "Easy" single as they have on other vinyl releases. That being said, this album is incredible! The sound quality is great and you can hear more of the extra layers separately than on the old cassette or CD versions. They were a very dynamic band, and this is the album where you can really hear it. I love their other albums and looking back, it includes what was arguably some of their best commercial sounding songs - A Small Victory, Midlife Crisis, Land of Sunshine. The band didn't sell out with this album, and while the rest of the world started copying one or two of FNM's key elements, no one has come close to Angel Dust.

I bought Sea Change as my first MFSL purchase and now I'm addicted. It's expensive, and it's awesome. They typically run about twice what the standard vinyl format, but in my opinion it's 100% worth it.
Also, I've ordered from Acoustic Sounds multiple times and they always go far above and beyond when packaging these. I highly recommend. [/free ad] |
