"ANGEL ON FIRE is a thriller loaded with sexual tension without being too overtly about the sex." - My Book Addiction and More
About the Author
Jacquie Johnson fell in love with books on her mother's knee. From Dr. Seuss to Carolyn Keene to L.M. Montgomery, she continued her affair until her teenage years when she began reading authors ranging from Tom Clancy to Nora Roberts to Johanna Lindsey. She's still an avid reader but now carries an e-reader instead of a paperback in her purse. Mysteries and suspense are her favorite genres, but she enjoys romance, historical fiction, and non-fiction as well. She graduated from Harvard and Indiana University School of Law. After ten years practicing labor and employment law, she retired to homeschool her daughters. She lives in Northwest Indiana with her husband, three daughters, and a spoiled cocker spaniel named Princess.

Now as they go from New England to Washington DC to Lake Michigan in a search for the truth they are going to have to reevaluate their lives to see what they thought they always wanted and where they were headed is still what they want of if they have found something very special with each other that is more important than anything else. Chase is also going to have to decide if what he has fond with Angela is enough to go up against her godfather who also happens to be his boss.
This story is full of action and suspense. The twist and turns that this one takes is sure to keep readers on the edge of their seats as they try to figure what is going on and just who are the bad guys and who are the good guys. This is a wonderful debut story that is sure to have readers watching for what comes next from this author. This is one that is definitely worth giving the time to and readers that enjoy action packed romance are sure to love this one.

Not a bad read, not a great read. This was a fast-paced suspense romance. Without going into too much of the story: Angela Mckenzie, an FBI desk operative (not an agent), learns that her father has passed away. Her father, Mac, was actually murdered for protecting a secret. Turns out that Mac has trusted his daughter to keep the information safe. If only he had told Angela what she was supposed to be protecting and how to do it, and therein lies the mystery.
Here's what I had problems with:
First, Angela is not the sharpest tool in the shed by any means. I guess I assumed that if she was working for the FBI, she would be intelligent when it comes to someone trying to kill her and solving her father's mystery. Then again she was NOT an agent and basically sat at a desk at the FBI, so that was my mistake for assuming she had inherited any survival skills from her kickass dad. Umm, someone breaks into your house, you stab them, you have bruised ribs, you're getting scary phone calls... yet, you DON'T call the police when you meet said stranger from the mysterious phone calls? Brilliant indeed.
Which leads me to my next problem, Angela's relationship with her father. Or lack of one. Angela claimed to have such a great relationship with her dad but he kept her in the dark about darn-near everything. That was a tad too unbelievable. Furthermore, Angela's father was ex-Army/ninja/spy/Chuck Norris but all he taught his daughter to do was, shoot a gun? He didn't give her anymore survival skills in case, you know... his enemies murdered him and went after his daughter?!
And why did Mac put his daughter in danger in the first place?! Did he not love her or something? It didn't make sense.Read more ›
