Book Description

A Jack Taggart Mystery May 26, 2008

In this gritty, gut-wrenching sequel to Loose Ends and Above Ground, Jack Taggart continues as an undercover Mountie whose quest for justice takes him from the sunny, tourist-laden beaches of Cuba to the ghettos of Hanoi. His targets deal in human flesh, smuggling unwitting victims for the sex trade. It is a story fraught with raw human emotion, and characters so real that they could not be figments of someone’s imagination.

Jack's personal vendetta for justice is questioned by his partner, until he reveals the secret behind his motivation, exposing the very essence of his soul.

This is the world of the undercover operative: a world of lies, treachery, and deception. A world where violence erupts without warning, like a ticking time bomb on a crowded bus. It isn't a matter of if that bomb will go off -- it is a matter of how close you are to it when it does.

Editorial Reviews

Review

“This is the third and best Jack Taggart novel by Easton, a former undercover operative for the RCMP. The subject is human trafficking, a loathsome practice, and Easton’s knowledge gives the plot plenty of realism as the action moves from Cuba to Hanoi.” - Margaret Cannon, Globe and Mail, August 9

“This novel will definitely thrill anyone who dares to enter this dark world. Just be forewarned that it’s always darkest before Taggart finishes his vendetta. In Angel in the Full Moon, Easton has delivered his third and most personal story yet, and one that hopefully will give him greater exposure to the masses, since it blows away all expectations that his first two books promised."

“Angel in the Full Moon is a raw, in-your-face sequel that draws on the author’s career as a RCMP undercover operative and shows his talent as a realistic storyteller. Don Easton has a gift for blunt dialogue, real-life plotting and sinister settings that profile the action in harsh light and murky shadows. Easton’s characters feel real, not imagined, as he exposes their raw emotion in gripping terms … Easton writes with a sense of urgency that explores Taggart’s gut-wrenching determination and drives the story to an explosive conclusion. This is a fine series that just keeps getting better each time out.” – Don Graves, The Hamilton Spectator (Hamilton, ON) July 19

Reviewingtheevidence.com Sep 8 “Easton has taught his readers that Jack Taggert is a master of manipulation and creative problem solving. In fact, Jack’s trademark ‘sting’ plot twist is a much anticipated part of the books. Easton’s prose is straight up and undecorated, which may not appeal to some readers, but his stories are interesting and well told. His skill in interweaving the investigation plot and personal lies of his characters has become more polished in this novel.”

"The third Jack Taggert book is probably the darkest, sine Easton delves into his own family's past and further blurs the line between author and character. Again let me state: one of the coolest Canadians ever."

5.0 out of 5 stars Like every mystery... start from square one!!!, July 3, 2008

This review is from: Angel in the Full Moon: A Jack Taggart Mystery (Mass Market Paperback)
Angel in the Full Moon is the third in a wonderfully suspenseful series written by Don Easton, and I mean wonderfully suspenseful in the most riveting way!! For those reading this review... read Loose Ends and Above Ground first. Totally worth picking up all three for a weekend read because you won't stop after the first one!! From start to finish, Easton has a style of writing that makes his characters, Jack and Laura, alive, credible and just a little frightening for heroes - keeping you on the hook the whole way through. You will truly understand and appreciate the intriguing, rebellious Jack and you will share the crooked smile of his as he "blurs the blue line" of his actions. As a 'member' in a drug section, I LOVE how Easton has pushed the envelope for justice!! Thanks Don... Can't wait for the next book!!! You are far from "NFAR. CH."!!!!
