A Sentimental Journey,
By A Customer
This review is from: Angel On A Harp (Audio CD)
This is the first instrumental album I have enjoyed so thoroughly. I was shocked to actualy hear Susan sing on this album on two tracks as well. Her voice is evidence enough that she is the Angel. Writing for the Observer, I wrote this is a necessary gift for the holidays. Susan presents herself on the cover of this album more delightfuly than an army of Christmas trees, and packaged more enticingly than ten million garlands of tinsel. I can't wait for her next album.

Susan Rosenberg's premiere CD takes us back to a time when music was a breath of fresh air. Distinctly clear, melodic, and sassy, the jazz harp is just what the doctor ordered. LOVE THIS ALBUM!!!!!

Music for every moment of your life,
By A Customer
This review is from: Angel On A Harp (Audio CD)
I need this CD. It's like the imaginary friend I had as a child. The music is so pure, so loving and understanding. I play it again and again. Susan Rosenberg is one of the world's finest virtuoso chromatic harmonic players (no wonder Les Paul loves to feature her with his trio!). Her musical talent and skill are like the world's clearest glass, and when she plays or sings the true spirit of the music shines through this perfect window and reaches your heart. My husband and I always listen to this CD on romantic evenings - it helps refine our love for each other - it speaks the things we can't always articulate. Ms. Rosenberg has a beautiful singing voice, and it's wonderful when she sings in this beautiful collection. Her harmonica is like a human voice, so her own voice follows naturally. It is so beautiful and true that I can hear it in my head perfectly. The collection of popular standards, classical pieces, and an original composition by Ms. Rosenberg, which is wonderful, make a great music evening, afternoon, or morning. It's a unique collection in that it cheers you up, while you can still be contemplative or romantic if that is where you are. It's wonderful to hear a CD that's about what music should be, brimming with love and compassion. I want to give it to everyone of my friends.

The music of the angels in the harmonica's friendly sound,
By A Customer
This review is from: Angel On A Harp (Audio CD)
This is a rare and beautiful CD. Ms. Rosenberg is the only virtuoso harmonica player ever educated at the Juilliard school, yet her heart and the spirit of each piece she plays shines through her instrument, which seems more like a human voice than a virtuoso chromatic harmonica. When she sings on this wonderful compilation of popular standards and classical and new compositions it is a haunting and wonderful treat. This is music that touches your soul, and changes you. I find myself singing "the nearness of you" remembering the meaningful way she sang it. The Satie and New Hat Tango have become part of my memories, and appear when I see or think about something important to me. It's an album that cheers you up in the morning, and sets the tone for romance in the evening. Love pours through the music, and the order of the pieces is wonderful. Susan Rosenberg truly is an angel on a harp.

This is my favorite CD that I've bought this year. Ms. Rosenberg's harmonica tears at your heart, than opens it, and fills it with a beautiful world of empathy and possibility. In addition to her virtuoso chromatic harmonica skills (no wonder Les Paul loves playing with her), her singing is intensely moving. I'm reminded of Nat King Cole, the pianist who could sing a song better than any "singer." Her voice stays with you. Her harmonica haunts you, and sketches all the beautiful and emotional moments of your life. You'll want to listen to this CD in the morning to feel happy, in the afternoon to feel meditative, at night to feel romantic and soothed. The tracks blend together beautifully to create a wonderful atmosphere. I can't think of a better Christmas or Chanukah gift, or just a special gift for someone you love(including yourself!) It would be my first choice of music for a romantic evening.

I really enjoy having it on all the time. It creates an up-beat atmosphere and the quality of the musicians is top notch.I really like the selections from Duke Ellington to Gershwin and Jobim and even some French impressionism like Satie. It features the soulful melodic sound of the harmonica like you've never heard it before in combination with world class guitarists:Gene Bertoncini, and Lou Pallo, amoung others. I think it will make the perfect holidy gift. It's a polished work and an attractive package.
