Mortal Sin

As a fallen Angel of Death, Azrael is cursed to walk the earth alone in search of redemption. One night, as he wanders the streets of New Orleans, he discovers a woman surrounded by panther shifters.  No longer able to contain the anger simmering within, Az summons his dark powers and attacks, determined to protect this innocent human from certain death.

Only Jade Pierce is no delicate flower.  She's spent years learning to survive and fight the evil forces sent by her ex-lover who refuses to let her go. But after seeing Az in action, she figures she could use a little supernatural help. And so she plans a course of seduction guaranteed to arouse his interest and his angelic passions...

Azrael, once one of the most feared Death Angels has fallen, his wings are gone and the one thing on his mind is redemption as he wanders the earth alone. Jade is a woman who is running from the terror of a twisted and deranged former lover, the shifter Brandt. They meet as Jade is being attacked in a dark alley and Azrael sees a way to redeem himself by saving this woman. Little does he realize, Jade also sees a way to use Azrael to save herself from her life of terror. Here's where the sparks start to fly and the action never stops! Characters from the previous books in the series get involved and the cast is well-represented by Angels, Shifters, Witches. Jade and Azrael are well-matched and bring out the best in each other!

The fight scenes are intense, the love scenes warm, the intrigue abounds as there is often doubt as to who can really be trusted, as another Death Angel, Bastion is bent on taking Jade from Azrael. The attention to detail throughout the story makes a vivid mental picture for the reader-A good read with an ending full of revelations and satisfaction!

I enjoyed Cynthia Eden's Night Watch and Midnight series, was excited she came out with a new Angel series. For me though I was not feeling Angel In Chains. The cover is something anyone could lust over and the blurb was more interesting then the first two novels in this series. I already have book one but took the chance and dove into Book 3. I was looking for a more intense read with a fallen Angel of Death Hero, Azrael is cursed to walk the earth alone in search of redemption and a kick butt heroine, Jade plans a course of seduction guaranteed to arouse his interest and his angelic passions. Had a hard time trying to finish, as it was so easy to put down and pick back up and then again could only read so much before I had to put it down again.

For me the writing was very flat, as I could not get into Az and Jade. There was no sexual tension at all. The sex scenes did nothing for me. I wanted to feel his pain since all he wanted was to get back into heaven, but was not feeling it. He was possessive, protective and had a Alpha male attitude, just the way I like my heroes. But it not did get my heart pumping or stomach all tingly.

Even though Jade character was kick butt and love that even more in my heroines, she tended to also be flat and boring. Scenes with them together I felt she was kicking more of the bad guys butt then he was. The scenes seem to focus more on her and really I had no idea what he was doing.

The only scenes I enjoyed are the ones with Brandt. A panther shifter who thinks she is his mate. Even though he is the villain, Cynthia Eden did a amazing job as making his character creepy and he felt more real that he jumped off the pages for me. Because of him I was able to finish the novel and gave 2 stars-Ok, then 1 star-DNF or Not Good.

Another great Cynthia Eden novel. Angel in Chains the third installment of The Fallen series was awesome. So intense and full of fast paced action right from the beginning. So many ups and downs emotionally. Very enjoyable.

Azrael and Jade's story was so much fun to read. Jade has so much spunk in her even with all her problems.

Az is trying to redeem himself and Jade is just trying to survive against her Ex-boyfriend. Both are tortured in their own way but the two together make a strong couple who are willing to fight to stay alive and to stay together. At the same time trying to do the right thing and not end in destruction.

The romance was sizzling hot. There were some twists and turns and some shocking scenes.

This was so hard to put down. We did get a glimpse of who the main characters will be in the next installment. I can't wait to read it.

Holy Moses on the mountain! I forgot how much I loved Cynthia Eden's books until I read Az and Jade's story. Can I please have my own Az to debauch? Pretty please? No? Ugh. Anyways, I should start out by saying that I have not read the first two books in this series. (Bad Crystal!) That being said, I didn't find it necessary to keep up with what was happening. We start off with Az rescuing Jade from three viscous panther shifters in an alley, and the action is like kapow! Az kick-eth butt-eth. As a fallen Death Angel, Az can kill with a touch, so he's a damn dangerous dude. He's pissed as hell that he's stuck on Earth, aggravated at having to deal with all of these emotions that are forced on him, and all he wants is to go home to heaven.

His brother Sam is nothing but a pain in his butt, and Sam's girl Seline says he has to do something to earn his way back into heaven. After learning this, he stumbles onto Jade's situation. He's fascinated by the idea that for once, he doesn't have to stand idly by while an innocent is murdered, waiting for his death touch so that their soul can move on. No, this time, he can help, so he does. Saving Jade from the shifters. What he finds after-wards is that Jade is one hell of a temptation. The only one he's found interesting to give into to touch, taste, and try out sin for a change.

Jade has problems. Or at least one problem. This crazy Alpha panther shifter named Brandt who says she's his mate, and he makes her life a living hell. She's been on the run from him for years, but it's all starting to catch up to her, and she knows that now, more than ever she needs help. Enter Az.
