Book Description

Driven by her own troubled past, Jessica Blackwood gave up her career as a magician to become an FBI agent. Hidden away in the cubicles of Quantico, her talents were wasted until the FBI came across a serial killer whose methods were so devious, some think he’s supernatural.

A dead girl is found crawling out of her own grave...
A Bermuda Triangle mystery washes up on Fort Lauderdale beach...
Witnesses claim they saw an angel fall to her death in Times Square...

These dark miracles are the work of a man known as the Warlock.

Thrust into the media spotlight, with time ticking away until the next murder, it’s up to Jessica Blackwood to see through the deceptions of a man others are dying to believe.

If she can’t stop him, she may become his next victim.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down March 30, 2012

Mayne has created some of the most instantly memorable characters I've ever read. I wouldn't be suprised to see them quickly follow in the tracks of Clarece Starling and Hannibal Lector. The "how'd he do that" nature of the crimes perpetrated in this novel keep the pages turning at a machine gun pace. I only stopped reading when my eyes began to hurt. You've gotta get this one!

3.0 out of 5 stars It kept me turning the page. August 17, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I'm very impressed by Andrew's ability to pull me into a world and trap me there until the story is done. Unfortunately, Angel Killer had two major flaws.

The first major flaw is the main characters "Guardian Angel", Damian. While I know this is a work of fiction, Damian is just too unbelievable. I sometimes questioned if Damian was even real, if the main character was somehow "imagining" him. Damian seemed to know everything about anything. I felt this book was more about Damian, rather than the main character.

The second major flaw is the the terrible ending. Andrew builds you up with the manhunt for this "Warlock" and in the end leaves you depressingly low. Of the two guys who were caught, which was the "Warlock"? Which was his accomplice? How did they perform all these feats? What was their goal? Did they have any at all? You go through this build up throughout the entire book whilst conjuring these questions in your head that never get answered. In fact, you only have more questions once the book ends.

Overall, "Angel Killer" was great and definitely worth the money. Maybe my questions will be answered in a sequel. Who knows?
