Jordan’s Review: I loved Angel and the Lawman. One of my favorite authors is Linda
Lael Miller and this book reminded me of her westerns. That’s as big a compliment as I
can give. The characters are fresh and utterly enchanting; the hero suitably macho and
mysterious. The story plays out well and with a wonderful plethora of detail that I find
totally absorbing. The ending is superb and totally fits in with the story. I had a couple
of moments where I wondered if there really would be a happy ending or if I was going
to be disappointed. The West comes alive and I got a real feeling for how it must have
been to live in the lawless territory of Oklahoma City. How anyone could resist the pull
of this story and not want to finish it all in one sitting, I have no idea. I certainly couldn’
t. It made for a great afternoon’s read.

Barbara Starmer has a winner in Angel and the Lawman. I’m going to be checking out
any other offerings by her to see what other great treasures are available and I will
certainly be looking for more by Ms. Starmer in the future.

The writing is fast paced and direct. The romance develops sweetly and builds to sensual. I highly
recommend this very engaging romance full of old time western action!! This is another new to me author
whose books I will be looking up!!

All my life I wanted to live in the West. In 2007, my husband and I packed our bags, sold our house and moved to Western Montana. Angel and the LawMan came out of my love of the old West and the courage of the people who lived during that time. I choose the Oklahoma Land Rush of 1895 because of the violence and the tenacity of the honest people who managed to make Oklahoma the state that it is today.

I hope you enjoy Alexandra in this book as she is the woman I always hoped I would have been if I lived in 1895. Marshal James Black is the man I would hope to meet if I lived in this era. Barbara W. Starmer is a native Midwesterner transplanted to Western Montana in 2007. She is an active author in the romance genre, childrens books, and scientific journals. Her first book "Undercover" received rave reviews followed by her short story "Mirrors of the Heart" that made the finals of the SciFi Fantasy Contest. Her latest novel "Angel and the LawMan" has received 4 and 5 star reviews from all the professionals. She is active in the RWA, the MRWA, and the ARA along with several author groups in the Montana area. She has retired from her traveling career in the health field to write full time. The story takes place in the Old West and is full of plot twists and turns. The fast paced action filled storyline is driven by a spirited woman called Angel who was given the moniker by the handsome and mysterious Marshall, James Black. Of course there's romance! Check it out! If you like western romances with strong heroines and dashing heroes, you won't be disappointed!

The sky is overcast and we're expecting rain. Don't really want to get out in the weather, so I think I'll just settle down with a hot cup of coffee and a good book. This is how my morning began, and I picked up the book I recently purchased from Amazon.com titled: "Angel and the Lawman". My morning was spent consumed in this beautiful story created by author Barbara W. Starmer. Her book, "Angel and the Lawman" is a story that gives you so much detail that you can literally feel as though you are right there with the characters of the old west. This is a must read, and an awesome gift to friends. Whether you're an avid reader, or don't read often, this is one that will give you hours of pleasure. "Angel and the Lawmen" is such an easy read and I will give it an enthusiastic "5+ Stars". (Angel and the Lawman would make a great Movie!) Thanks for the incredible morning and I look forward to the next book written by Barbara W. Starmer.

Holy smoking barrels, what a great read! Marshal Black is everything you could imagine in a man: smart, sexy, honest, and just a little bit ornery. He is the perfect foil for the sweet, intriguing, and beautiful Alex. There are so many wonderful things about this book. The writing is smooth and paints a vivid picture of the west and the troubles faced by the brave people that started lives out there. The author intertwines mystery, romance, and treachery into a page turning read. The West blazes to life with each character in the book. The bad guys are terribly bad and the good guys are extraordinary. You can picture this up on the big screen as an old fashioned western; with gunslingers, outlaws, stolen kisses and a high drama trial, there is absolutely nothing missing. As the story draws to a close you will find yourself wishing for more and looking for the next story from Ms. Starmer. - Helen Ruby
