Carmelita is, in my opinion, is one of Cowboy Junkies best songs of all time. What bothers me is that other than this single you can only hear Carmelita on one other LP, live from somewhere or another. That version is horrible. So if you want to hear the song you are forced to pay around $25. Where as Angle mine, Misguided angel and innumerable other songs are on every other CD. As a fan for more years than I care to admit, I have to say that this pisses me off to no end.

I also bought this CD for the Carmelita single. I had heard this rare recording on You Tube (while looking for various versions of a different song by the same name, sung by Warren Zevon, Counting Crows, and others), and finally found it on this CD. It's too bad that it's so short; it doesn't get enough play on my stereo because it's over almost as soon as it starts. But I occasionally see it sitting there, on my coffee table or in my car's console, and I have to play it. I must say that this little album, with the sleeper song Carmelita, just underscores how under-rated and under-appreciated the Cowboy Junkies are.
