Of Course Bonnie Raitt Does NOT Sing On This !,
By A Customer
This review is from: Angel from Montgomery-Bluegrass Celebrates Bonnie (Audio CD)
Whenever you look at the title of an album ( CD ) and see words such as "Celebrates" or "Celebration" or "Inpsired By" or "Friends Of" . . . Those words mean that you will NOT find that artist on that album . Instead you will find other people doing their versions of the music which made somebody famous ! This is a fine album . Of course , Bonnie Raitt does not sing on this album . Are you looking for the song , "Angel From Montgomery" ? It was written by John Prine . The song was made famous by John Prine and Bonnie Raitt singing a duet , on the Bonnie Raitt album "Streetlights" , which was released in 1974 . You will also find that song on a collection of Bonnie Raitt's work , interestingly titled , "The Bonnie Raitt Collection" . The "liner notes" from this CD include a very nice history of Bonnie's career , the songs on the CD , and some important past albums . In case anyone is interested , Bonnie Raitt's debut release , from 1971 , is still easily available , new , today . And , John Prine's first release was also made in 1971 , and is also still easily available . The ninth song on "John Prine" , by "John Prine" , is "Angel From Montgomery" . Enjoy ! :^)

Tricked Into Buying,
By A Customer
This review is from: Angel from Montgomery-Bluegrass Celebrates Bonnie (Audio CD)
I thought that this CD was Bonnie Raitt because I had asked to be notified by e-mail when a new CD came out. I was excited because my husband is really a fan, and I thought this would be a great surprise gift.To our great disappointment, this was Bonnie Raitt music done "bluegrass" style. I like bluegrass. I like Bonnie, but the renditions were awful. We could not even listen to the entire CD.

First, I don't understand how anyone could be "tricked" into thinking this is a Bonnie Raitt album. It's clearly marked as "Bluegrass celebrates Bonnie Raitt", and listed under "Various Artists".That said, I was expecting bluegrass-style covers of Bonnie Raitt songs and that's exactly what I found. They're up-beat and easy to listen to, and that's what I was looking for as background music at work.
